sorry if this is not the right forum, but i just got a call from racerx motorsports. they want to give me a ten thosand dollar sponsorship. anyone else been offered this, do you know if this is on the up and up? they are sending me the contract in the mail, and if it looks good i'm going to do this, any suggestions.

no clue, but theirs another person on this forum who got one to, littleredwagon5, one other person who is trying. i saw this in hci magazine, i only entered because you have the chance to win a skyline. and i know this is true because one of the sponsors for this is motorex, the only importer on skylines in the u.s., and other japenese cars.

Its a fairly large marketing gimmic.


They have accepted ALOT of cars -- mostly ones who dont have a huge aftermarket...and have given them the 10k one. Now, if you read the contract, that 10k comes in the form of discounts. The discounts are UP TO 52% off parts. You tell them what you want, then they give you a price after your "discount" remember.. this discount might be only for 1% ..... sign only if you are sure you want this .. if not call them, and say no.. they will refund you the money.

but u have to pay to get the discount.and if u can get lower prices by goin to a local shop why wqouldnt u support them? to me this seems like amarketing ploy.. after all.. they cahrge u 80 bux.. they charge that to 100 people then they go out of buisness.

believe me when i say this there is something there not telling you, notice how there isn't a real contact address anywhere, this is probably some guy with a PO Box based on other things like this i've seen. I'll take my $80 and my mp3 elsewhere thanx.

Not to mention the fact that you have to give them your car for ANY show they want and ANY time they want. You pretty much will need a second car to get around in. They will not provide a rental either. I have already checked into sponsors and it is a VERY time consuming process. You might have your car 7 days out of a month. Between putting parts on it and showing it at shows, you might as well say good bye to your car.

They also say that you have free shipping of parts for a year....however, when you read the contract...you have free shipping of parts that they have IN STOCK.... so anything that is not for a honda or a eclipse, you have to pay for shipping from the company to racerx, then shipping to you. so your not really getting free shipping for ALL parts. The UP TO 52% is great if its for the full 52%, but its probably 52% off the windshield pissed lights or the exhust tips with the LED's inside of it. Oh also in the contract you have to recruit people to apply to get a sponsorship from them. Its something like you have to have 4 a month for a year.

They dont come and take your car for their shows, they just expect you to show at least at four a year. If your not into the car show scene then the sponsorship isnt for you. I already have had one show this year, and about 5 more in the next two months, and that doesnt include HIN, Nopi, and the rest of what the summer will bring. I like to see them come and take my car!

there is an address on the contract that they send to your house. not a PO box. And Littleredwagon5 has been up there. So they exist.

I received the program contract today, I too am going to turn it down. I have already purchased everything I could for the car except for the JIC exhaust and WW kit.
Since there are few aftermarket items available for me to get the 10K program will not be of any benefit to me.
I agree with most of the replys, shop wisely. Fix your car up little by lttle, show it and win prizes and cash and purchase parts on your own.

Yeah I recently got "sponsored" by racerX motorsports, they called me and told me about it and apparently the contract is in the mail and will be here in the week. Yeah I doubt I will get in on it, unless I can get a big ass discount on Tenzo R seats, and DGmotorsports stuff, which I doubt they deal in dg stuff anyhow. They are pretty misleading, and I didn't show them any pictures of my cars, and the big tip off, is the fact that, on the link of getsponsored.net, there is a link to racerX Motorsports, and it just loops back to the sponsor page. I doubt they are making money just sponsoring people =P

If I end up getting in it, I'll just be a dealer for you guys, I'll buy things for ya and ship it to your address, at the price they give me. Seeing as all I do is order the stuff I wont take any money =P

i filled the form out a while ago, the dude called me last week and said they have a spot for me. They never even saw my car. also they said you get 10$ for everyone that you get to sign up to be sponsored. sounds like bs, i told him i would call him back.

Im not too sure about Racer X anymore.....They seem to give you the run around when you ask for a price quote. Or should I say, they dont answer their email. A few buddies of mine are also sponsored and want to investigate it because they are having the same issues. The company dies exist, a friend of mine works near it, But we are thinkin that is maybe a front for something else.

I think all of us have been taken. They said ,"they would not bill us until we accepted the sponsorship." They billed me even after I said no. I have reported them to the credit card company, the AL state consumer affairs dept. If anyone else feels the same you should do the same thing.
"Fight Back" The credit card company has credited my account and they have asked Racer X MS to provide them with proof of my acceptence in which they do not have.
This was the last resort, after e-mails and unreturned telephone calls, I had no choice.

I signed up for it (entered "am not paying for sponsership" in the CC line) I was contacted about 3 weeks ago by some kid named Scott. I was told to call one number and if it was busy, to call the parts department phone number. Every time I called the first number, it was busy. When I tried calling the parts dept, I either got a recording (couldn't leave a message) or some other kid. Every time I talked to the "kid" I left a message for Scott, he never got back to me. I finally said the hell with it. I now know that it's totally not worth it.

After reading all the post from one thread to another, I think this sponsorship is not worth and it's a BS!

I got contract by a guy call Scott too, I sent him back an e-mail 2 days ago about some detail question about the sponsorship and he didn't get back to me yet.

Yes, I think i will turn this shit down too. Don't want to spend 79$US just for some stickers and a T-shirt. Putting my car in car show cost me at least 50$ each show! So, if I can't get any deals in return from this company, I will got rip off just like that.

I will try ro contact RXM again and give some news next days!
