Help get this produced!!!!

Hey guys. I am sure you have all seen these models from Jada Toys before, called Import Racers. They are 1/24th scale, fully customizable, from the tires and rims, all the way to a subwoofer in the trunk/hatch.
I have contacted them, and told them that we in the pro5 community would love to have a model made of our car, and have been waiting for some time.
It was explained to me, that if enough interest is shown, they could produce such an item. SO, if you would pay about $25 for one of our cars, please respond to this message with a YES I WOULD BUY ONE! or something to that effect. And PLEASE!!! If you do not want to buy one, DO NOT RESPOND! Sorry to be a dick, but I am trying to get all postive feedback so I have something to fight with, and the negatives will just hurt more than help. Thanks everyone!
Oh yeah, all the other boards you guys visit, link this to them so they can vote as well. I want to try to get about 200 responses if possible, but the more the merrier!

So many responses in so little time, you guys are the greatest! Glad to see I am not the only one wanting this produced. Now if I can only convince the company.

But anywho, here's a little update. I got an email back from JADA Toys today, and the corporate HQ for US Distributions in Cali replied that in order to get this thing even started, they would have to have permission from Mazda to make the car, and that they would have to agree on some type of "estimate" as to how many could sell. They said they like to think that 30-50k of the things would sell before they even think about making a mold for one.
SO, I made a few phone calls from work, using the "This is SSG Andrews calling from the US Army," line that always gets me a more professional answer than the regular, I'm a normal guy calling. I received from them the email address for Corporate Mazda and a phone number to call them tomorrow(already closed due to time differences between HI and the rest of the world). I emailed them that we all want the this car made, and gave them a copy of what I sent JADA. I explained to them that JADA wants a 30K minimum "estimate" for sales, and went on to explain that 30k is not that many models, seeing how just figuring many people would buy the car because they own one and counting how many everyday "die-cast collectors" buy new models all the time.
I also told them that we in the protege community would like to see our car represented more in the collectors scene, because it is difficult going to the store and only seeing Civics, Neons, Eclipses, etc sitting on the shelf, with no Mazda representation aside from the soon to be non-existant rx-7, which isn't even in our same class of competetors to begin with.
It's time for a change to the "toy" departments, and I feel that the production of our protege 5 would be the best change they could make.

Ok, there is most of it in a nutshell. The whole letter was done on business letterhead, and about 2 pages long, all done up pretty and stuff to look most professional. Once I get a response from them, I will post the answers to see where we stand.

If I was in anyway artistic or an engineer type I would mold this damn thing myself. All I do all day long is sell molding equipment, ie Wax block for carving and injecting into rubber molds, Rubber, and casting investments that you make the final model out of. I just don't know how to carve a perfect car. The only problem I would have is finding mold rubber large enough but I have the connections for sure. Any takers?

Sorry for the lack of updates. Being in the Army causes some real in life problems when war is involved.
But, to fill you all in on what I know so far, here it goes.

I contacted Jada Toys, and they informed me that they would like to talk to the Mazda Corp in reference to how well they think this vehicle would sell if they spent the time and money on making the molds for them. They stated that they like to see anywhere between a 30-50 thousand units being sold before they consider it.
SO, I contacted Mazda Corp, and have only received a response stating that they have received my inquiry and that they will look into my claim and get back to me. This letter was received about 2 weeks ago. If I do not here back from them by Friday, I will be calling them and trying to nicely "bug the shit out of them" to see if I can get a few answers to see if they are really even considering our pleas for a die cast replica of our cars.
I will let you all know the outcome at the end of the week.

Bad news. After a long conversation with the fellas in charge, I don't see this happening. They basically told me that there just doesn't seem to be enough interest in the protege family to warrant the costs of making and selling the models. They state that more people would buy an RX-7 or RX-8 model than a "family sedan/wagon."
Oh well, thanks for your interest and your help in replying to this message. If anyone has more pull when dealing with corporate headquarters than me, please feel free to run with this. I would love to see this happen for all of us, but I just cannot spend the time on it after this last meeting. I have school work to do, and my duties to the military call. Thanks again for the support.

However, there is a company out there that makes small diecast models for charity. what we could do is have the administrators of this site contact them to see if they can produce P5's MSP and MP3's to help raise money for this site. i forget which company it is though.

the way how i know this is when i was a police explorerer they had small diecast police cars that they made in honor of an officer who had died in the line of duty. it was his specific car that they had made. the money that went to buy the cars went to some sort of police fund. just an idea. i would love to have a black P5 on my dash!

I was surfing earlier for scale models and came across a company. Their name is J-Collection. mazdaformance.com has a 1:43 scale of the mazda 6. the company carries different mx-5's... This is probably the company to be hitting up IMO...

I'm just guessing but I bet the reason that they make models in all those other cars is because the manufactures gave them a little kickback to help them along. Mazda just isn't playing the game. I have already talked with the manufacturer. The models will be about $50 since they are handmade. Colors - factory colors of course. I"m not sure about licenses. I will contact Mazda NA this week to find out more stuff about that.

Bad News----- They're itty bitty pull back cars and i can only find them in red. Bummer
i thought about getting one anyway and trying to paint. seems like a little too much work for those thing though and i don't want to mess it up. i'm sure there's plenty of red P5 owners here that can find them good homes. but if anyone decides to get one anyway and take a crack at painting it let me know i'd like to see it when it's done. oh, yeah here's the link
