Thought it'd be funny to read about what our partners think about our obsession of our cars and how it totally pisses them off or just makes them laugh.
Here is my girlfriend's thoughts:
Well... where to start... hmmm... First of all it has a name (actuallly he just corrected me-SHE has a name). Every time we park it's gotta be 20 miles from were we are going so no one park around him. When we come back he checks the car around for door dings. When we get to the house he spends another 20-30 mins. inspecting the car or just admiring it. Then, the usual trips back and forth from the computer to the car. Checking stuff that would fit in it, new gadgets etc... The funniest thing is that he actually tells me all the names, models, parts, etc., of the things he is thinking on putting on the car, which I only understand 10% of the stuff he tells me. Of course, there's also "car cleaning day", where he spends 3-4 hours detailing it, and if after that we go out and if it rains, then is coming back to the house and wipping it down. There's a lot more stuff, but that's just about the daily routine with HER. (notcool)
well she wasn't to harsh on me... hehehe cut me some slack! I'm not alone here right?

Mine is definatly a boy, not a girl...
Going on 36 hours and I haven't named him yet though...its tough I should have planned ahead. All this time spent on working out the financing and I forgot to pick up a book of baby names :)
And I need to get film for my camera...no documentation, How will I capture this moment?

well my 87 cougar was definatly a woman...it behaved exactly like one...I wouldn't go so far to say things happened once a month, but it was defantly a moody car, Natasha was her name (a good cat name if you ask me, regardless of the russian background). Then there was my 90 Grand Marquis, a definate old man at heart. He took his time whether I pushed him or not.
I don't know, maybe it is a girl. Its hard to say with only 200 miles on the ticker. Guess I should find out if it has balls :)

SLOW, DAMN SLOW
My ex-wife has the same complain about me too. I have had my car for 7 month, still no name.
But guess what...
She got a Protege5 too a month ago!!!, I had to sold my sound equip to her because she insisted that she wanted my stuff.
I ordered rims...Now she wants new rims.
I ordered Exthaust...Now she wants a new exhaust, and worst than that, she wants mine.
Got the Intake...SHE WANTS THE INTAKE
Soon im gonna order the cf hood...SHE WANTS IT TOO!!!:wtf:
So now, im pushed to have a turbo...and guess what :wtf: ,...I dont have to tell.
She already told me its too expensive, so I told her, go nitrous.

HAHA, this is funny. I used to drive my ex-wife nuts with car stuff. But, that's the way it goes. She would just get pissed that I wanted to do all kinds of things or explain stuff to her.
Oh well, I guess that's she is my ex...

Wow, interesting. I never made that connection, nor have I seen Cat People. I just though Natasha was a good name for a black cat with a raspy smoker's voice. (If you've heard an old Ford V6 with a bad exhaust you know what I'm talking about).

Definatly a black cat. No one wanted her so she crawled into a junk yard where I think she was revived by a more mechanically gifted owner.
it funny, with my previous car (a shitty saturn) i never did a double take (unless i wished that i had a different car, then turned around to see if it disappeared yet).
since i got my p5, i turn around and look at least 4 times. one time at work i got out of my car and was walking away, i turned around and was staring at my car when iwalked into another car. one lady saw me do it, but she was driving a minivan, so she doesnt understand.
my fiancee has gotten sick of listening to me talk about my car, or what i want to do to it next. i come to these boards everyday. but like i told her, 'if you want to marry me, your going to have to deal with the fact that i have another love in my life.'
she would always accuse me of being obsessed and i would say 'your crazy, im not obsessed.' then i realized i was, but i was in denial (the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem). so yes, i am obsessed....YOU GOT A PROBLEM WIT DAT?
i didnt think so.
