Hey,
Hope the mods don't mind me moving this over here for a bit more visibility.. If so, sorry ;P
Anyway, I'm in the process of planning an audio setup for the MSP. I'd like to plan out unit locations/sub locations/etc but seeing as how I don't have my MSP yet, I was looking for help.
If you have a digital camera and wouldn't mind taking some shots of the car's trunk, it'd help me out GREATLY. I know there are some pictures in the galleries of the trunk, but I'm looking for a picture of the overall trunk taken from normal height, a straight shot looking down in to the trunk and one from the left showing the right wheel well area and vice versa.
I don't have a digital camera anymore and I'd love it if anyone could provide these pics for me, I'll owe ya one. (bow)
since were on this topic, I'd like to have a shot of the trunk as well. I need to see underneath the fake kenwood grills in the trunk to see how much room there is for the magnets of any 6x9's I might plan on getting. This is going to be a hard shot to get because you got to take a shot of each side, one next to the sub, and one next to the amp.
Watch your back!
I just took some trunk photos....getting ready to post....

Just so you guys know.....I WOULD NOT put speakers in those grills....... If you put those in there with the speakers in the doors you will ruin your soundstage up front and it will not sound as good. Even putting newer speakers in the grills and taking out the door speakers might disrupt it as well. Just some info do what you want with it :) Later

How would adding additional speakers be a bad thing? I can see taking the rear door ones out and putting in rear deck ones, but I'm confused about adding them..
And thank you, AGR..

Another question.. How is upgrading the stock sound system going to work? If the plastic fitting thats around the sub is only for an 8", could you remove the plastic all together and just have a sub box or some other kind of more expensive custom install? I've read that piece also acts as a strut bar or something, so will it affect anything if I were to remove all of that and just install the amp/subs somewhere else?

I was wondering about the strut bar issue as well.
Other than a gross piece of metal crossing where the rear seat handles are, I don't see any evidence of a strut bar back there.
Anyone care to enlighten me on that?
And AGR, why does your car look a bit dirty?

Then what am I confusing the strut bar with? I've read that the plastic housing for the sub and radio equip acts as a stiffner of some type..

Icy Hot Stuntas is a long time internet joke, kinda like the recent "Woo WOOOoo" clip. No need to get so serious.
I like that trunk, how much money was invested in that?

Thats looks to be from a picture that was sent around the web.
It was basically slamming those CHODES not glorifiying them.
So I am certain it was in all likelyhood meant in jest.
I could be wrong but the picture that came from is so over the top stupid it could never be taken seriously. It in fact it may have been a dumbass webpage with those "homeez" featured on it.
Like the New Kids on the block ala da crack pipe.(rofl)

can you smell what the stuntaz are cooking rock? timrock101 should I say, holy shit bro, like t3ase and yashooa said it's a joke, I got a PM on the other protege board from the bigest flamer, he nearly wanted to fight thinking I was one of them in the pic and calling me every name in the book
anyways, thanx for the props fellas, trunk has 5 blue neon tubes for the lighting. The subs are the front of the box and the letters are the back. cap, amps, and wiring are between the letters and subs are in the box which is sealed. letters are a font from microsoft. a print shop blew the letters to size plus the mazda symbol, installer traced them on a piece of wood, cut them out, and carpeted them. all the cuts are near perfect inside and out and the car hits like a son of a bitch. system has 2 memphis 12" subs, 2 6x9" , 4 6.5", and 2 1" tweets molded in the fronts

I don't think that's the original page, that's just someone using the pics to make a new page. I'm not sure as to where the pics originated, just check out google.com if you wanna see more.

The strut bar connects the top of the suspension together.
