anyone find a bad reception for the radio???

???? bad reception of the antenna in the tuner mode of the stereo!!!!! anyone experiencing that???? I don't think I haven't make that clear enough???

I also receive bad reception while listening to the radio.

I ask the dealer if the tinted windows would be the cause but they said probably NO. They have bad reception on the radio with the Mazda 6s too, I guess we are not the only one.

If the tint shop used metallized tint film, this can effect the radio antenna in the rear glass.

the reception is fine in my car as well.
but the only thing is whenever i play the tuner, the settings for the audio doesn't sound as good as if they were playing for a CD.
I pre-set my audi settings for my CD to my desire, but it never dounds good for any radio station i listen. Even after adjusting it again, it's 'okay' but never 'great'.

ok, I guess my radio has been screwed then. I didn't tint my windows using metallic film ( just the regular black ones), so I don't know why it have bad reception.

phantom. I don't think any type of tint film can make your reception go bad. it's a very thin peice of film, so i can't see how that would affect it's reception. You might want to check the lines of the antena in the glass to see if they cut any part of the lines. Perhaps they might have did, and therefore, result in yoru bad reception.

thats not the Kenwoods fault. radio transmissions have FAR LESS bandwidth than CD Audio. CD will always sound better and more dynamic than 'flat' Radio waves.

Yep. The cutoffs are something like 150Hz -15kHz, or in that ballpark.

when i got my windows tinted they unhooked my rear defroster...

p.s. i would think that using a metalic tint would actually INCREASE your reception, it would allow more surface to pickup the radio waves...

Yeah, you would think it does. I've never really heard of metallic window film messing up radio antennas, but it definitely will mess up an OnStar system found in a lot of GMs.

Hey, did you know that your "settings" are actually separate for each source? Yep, one set for tuner, another set for cd, etc. I just found that out yesterday playing with the radio and manual while I was waiting in the car for some people to show up. Makes sense when you think about it: different sources would sound different. And yes, the radio isn't as "high fidelity" as the cd, so you might want to tweak the tuner settings so it sounds better. :cool:
