I have just finished installing my new plugs and wires. The new plugs are denso iridium IK20's and I got the wires from sparkcoonline.com. After I finished I took the car for a test spin to make sure everything was okay. First gear was fine, then I shifted into second. at about 4k the engine bogged down and started shuttering and continued to do so until I let off the gas at about 6k. I turned around and drove back home. I made sure the wires were connected correctly and that all the plugs were properly installed. Then I took it around the block again. It did it again!:wtf: I drove back home again and removed the wires and reinstalled the old ones. Took it out once again and it had stopped. Does anyone have any clue why this happened? Did I get a bad set of wires or am I doing something wrong? Please help this is really pissing me off!

When you changed back to the old wires, did you keep the DENSO plugs?
It very much sounds like bad wires!

I'm not too sure on ignition stuff. But could it have something to do with mis-firing while driving??
does plug and wires suppose to enchance performance anyway?

If you hadn't said the original wires fixed the problem, I would have said either:
1. You had the wrong heat range of plugs...
2. You had carbon built up on the top of a piston... (I've done this on my truck, and it ran like you described.)
3. One of the wires didn't actually seat firm enough on the ignition coil.
But since the original wires fixed it, it sounds like your new wires need to be replaced. Good luck!

Are the plugs working fine with stock wires?
Do the new wires work fine with the stock plugs?
Try those, then get back to us.
