I was just wondering if Spool or BEGI was going to be doing any type of turbo upgrades, or work on our car. If so what can we expect? I will have about 2k I will be blowing on the car in late summer.

Spoolin has exprest the interest but I have not heard that BEGI or FM has yet.

Since you already have the turbo and manifold the next thing to do is free up the exhuast with a better down pipe and exhuast and open up the intake stage and replace that terrible air filter and such. Injen is already working on that. Also that intercooler has to go.

As I previously mentioned; I am quite pleased with my K&N install! Will I go with a CAI in the future? Maybe, maybe not. Don't have the disposable cash right now, anyway, as we are getting ready for vacation in the Southwest.

spoolin has stated that they will release an intake for the msp in may... at a price of about $100, with a group buy and the fact that the guy who runs spoolin is a member of the forum im sure that price would drop. just a thought for those that dont want to shell out for the injen

Wow! Not a bad price. I would like to see that one.

I wonder if it will also use the same route that Injen took. If it actually turns out to be $100.00, and there is noticeable gain; then my little K&N adventure might be short-lived. But; I guess there is a possibilty that they may use a K&N RU-3580 cone filter, or not.

umm but i thought spoolin is waitng on the new 2003.5 to come out first... as i read looooong ass time ago... so is the spoolin intake gonna be out soon? and is the hp gain gonna be as much as the injens... if its 1-2 less.. its worth for sure :D just hope he speaks soon about when its gonna be out b4 the injen group buy starts...that way most ppl can decide whether they want spoolin or injen...

i think that spoolin -hintes towards a short-ram intake, which buy AEM's claims actually yeild higher hp gains than CAI's. (www.aempower.com) but i could be wrong and have wrong information as is coustomary for an msp owner

We've been thinking about it. Not intakes, but IC and piping upgrades. We've also got some turbos that might bolt up, as that teeny little T25 is never going to be a powerhouse.

But we need a test car. Anyone in Texas or Colorado want to help us out?

Be careful what you ask for or you'll have another Stutter knocking on the door :D!

seriously though isn't the T25 atleast capable of 200 whp

T25 refers to an family of turbos, not a specific one. The sizing of the one used on the MSP is intended for low boost, fast response. While it may be possible to get one up to 200 whp, maybe, you'll be past the efficient range of the turbo and having to deal with very hot outlet temperatures.

Can the turbo be rewoked a little or would it need to be replaced to reach the 200 whp mark? I assume that I/C needs to be replaced aswell.

The order I'd go:
Intercooler/piping
Intake
Turbo

You'd be best off going to a larger turbo and selling the T25 as a unit. But this is why we're looking for a guinea pig. Instead of theorizing, we can strap one on the dyno and see exactly what works.

No exhuat work before the turbo swap?

I understand the need for a tester but no one has laid out the modification route yet for them.

Depends on how well it flows. Maybe. It's pretty big, and that car just isn't running much boost. I would keep the stock boost and get rid of restrictions in the IC tract first.

You can't say with 100% authority what will work until you test. Of course, lots of people will jump forward and make proclamations based on nothing more than looking at pictures. But that's worth what you pay for it.

Yes I expressed interest for modding the car but we decided to take a different route with a different car...So unfortunatly we will not be devoloping products for the car as quickly. If anyone is interseted however in the Miami area to donate there car for some R&D (and some deeply discounted parts) then we will have parts out for the car real fast. But as of now we do not have a test mule to work on....
check this thread guys

I may be in Fl. this summer with my GF, not sure what part though. How long would you want the car? What parts are you thinking (manifold, tranny, fuel rails/raising rate fuel regulator, ECU upgrade, basically anything that would enable me to run higher boost more efficiently and safely.) Man do I have dreams for this car. I was thinking in staying for around 3weeks.
