It won't be interesting at all, the turbo MP3 will beat the shit out of a MSP. No contest.

Actually Zs'MSP, I think it's hilarious that you think so highly of your MSP. Do you know that that thing only puts 138hp to the ground. THAT'S WEAK! Campaired to a easy 167hp to the ground with the conservative FM kit. And thats at only 6 or 7psi. The MSP would need a 3" exhaust, big fmic, and at least 10psi to match any MP3 turbo at only 8 psi. I know mine was putting out around 190 to the wheels at only 7psi. Hey, that's 50hp more than the MSP. That's just too funny.

I think he's in denial that he bought a car thinking it was going to be fast because it was turbo. Now it's really going to be bad when he realizes that a Civic SI with CAI, header, exhaust, and cams will blow him away.(rofl)
You guys are getting a little over pissed don't you think?
The MSP has the same potential as the MP3. Same car. Just add a CIA, better intercooler and pipes with a better exhuast and your in buisness. No different then the MP3 needs.
Actualy I would think the MSP would be better suited since it already has a turbo tuned ECU and bigger injectors so you could push the PSI a little more, just have to get rid of some of that weak crap on it first though.

Pic? Well, it looks like ... a blue MP3! :) Seriously, it has a minor parking paint scuff on the back bumper corner (like most cars do, not my bad), otherwise it looks like one in any review or ad.

How much did you get for it? People are having a hard time getting what they are hoping out of it. If you don't want to share that's ok.

You didn't PM me. Yes, my car is running good now. I just got the motor rebuilt. So it's running as good as new again. :D It's kinda making me fall in love with it again, but I'm trying to restrain myself. The car I'm getting in a few months is SWEET! I don't really want to say what it is yet though. Just incase the psycho is reading the forum again.
I wonder who that could be.
Damn good idea not to mention it.

... the new owner let it out of the bag on his posts, so I can say it too: sold for $13,300. I think the PM is messed up.
Sorry folks, but my 13-year-old Honda gave me more love than the 2-year-old Mazda, so we kissed and made up. :p
Maybe if I didn't keep the Honda around to compare it to ...

How many miles did you have on the MP3? You got a good price for it. The value of them took a dive after they were a year old. I'd probably let mine go for a little over $12,000. I'd have to take a $4000 hit, but oh well, that's life I guess.
zbillster

Well, that's why I unloaded it NOW. The prices on Proteges take a serious nose dive real fast. Look at ones 3 to 4 years old vs. Civics, etc., of the same age. They're great used bargains but not as a new car.
I'm just really glad:
1) I bought it used myself and the first guy took the SERIOUS depreciation hit
2) I didn't buy a new ES at 0% last year and trick it out suspension wise with MP3 stuff from the factory (as I originally planned before I found this one)
The other problem is that it's such a limited run model, dealers (even some Mazda dealers) don't know what the true market value is since it's not listed in their NAPA bible. So they tend to go by the ES listing. Carmax (who knew the relative value of the MP3) offered $11,100 as their wholesale offer. I probably could have held out more waiting for the "right" buyer, but after taking 3 months to sell a Miata years ago and ending up getting what I was offered on the first day I ran an ad, I decided to take his offer.
Now mine was very clean and one dealer commented that it even SMELLED like a brand-new car (very minor scuff on back bumper, non-MP3 stereo put in) ... while it sounds like yours went thru hell and frickin' back. :( Plus, everyone, even my Nissan friends, loves that blue.
