Hi fellow Protege 5 owners,

It brings me great pleasure to bring to you a
special offer from RideCustom.com, the number one
source for these awesome DIAMOND PLATE FLOOR MATS.
Ride Custom is known to be the best priced retialer
for these custom fit mats. I, personally being a
proud owner of my Protege 5, have been given the
ability to offer you these newly added mats way below
the competitions price as well as Ride Customs normal
selling price. Ride Custom is also the ONLY company
to offer the custom fit matching trunk plates as well.

The mats are produced of 1/16th inch 100% diamond
plate aluminum. They are custom fit to match the
floorboard of your vehilcle. Normally, Ride Custom
only offers the 2 custom fit front floor mats and 2 of
their designed rear mats, but they went the extra step
and designed the custom fit rear mats to match the
floorboard as well. Normally, these sets are sold for
116.00 per set for the 4 piece set, and 232.00 for the
5 piece set on their website, but
here is the the deal that Ride Custom has passed along
to me.

There are 2 different setups available for the Protege
5.

Setup 1. 2 custom fit front floor mats
2 custom fit rear floor mats
SHIPPED UPS to you for 96.00

Setup 2. 2 custom fit front floor mats
2 custom fit rear floor mats
1 custom fir trunk plate
SHIPPED UPS to you for 199.00

**EDIT** RideCustom.com has just created a diamond plate piece that fits around the shifter boot that can be purchased for $10 shipped USPS. Also you can purchase the trunk plate by itself for $103 shipped UPS.

Ride Custom just added the Protege to their inventory
on Sunday, February 9th, 2003 courtesy of me and as a
token of their gratitude, has allowed me to offer
these mats to you before they are even added to their
website.

Please feel free to shop around, I guarantee you won't
find a better price for this setup. Its awesome,
check out the pics of the kit in MY Protege 5 in the
pics below.

Here is my contact information as well in case you
need to contact me for more information.

the dead pedal is the pad to the left of your clutch where you rest your foot when you are not using it

I will ask how much for just the trunk plate and get back to you on it as soon as possible.

Hmm give a a day or two for look over recent list of purchases to see if I can fit this in. Kinda of interested cause I also tend to track dirt and crap from my driveway in the car.

But gives me a reason to clean it every week. :D

i think the shifter plate piece would look better with the top ends rounded off like the bottom

any chances of that being a test piece.. just to see how it would look?

i think i'd buy it

EDIT:

I'm guessing it stays put since the ends of the boot is raised a bit? or does it have something to keep it in place?

It is held in place by double sided tape. And you can have one made that is rounded at the top just like its rounded at the bottom.

I am not familar with the interior of any of the proteges other than the P5, is there a difference there, and if there is i am positive that if they can find a car to use as a template that they will make that piece for you. But i thought they were the same(huh)

just to clarify- u got the dead pedal?

mypfizzle
04-11-2003, 03:04 PM
do you have to screw them into the car? or do they just sit there?

REMillers
04-11-2003, 03:07 PM
They sit in there, but I'm going to get something to stick to the bottom. Plus get some blue rubber to place around the edges to match the color of the car. The edges arent sharp or anything just want to add more to them.

04-16-2003, 02:13 AM
I am now selling my set, which includes the floor mats and trunk plate, for $50 + shipping. I dont know what the shipping prices are, id have to look it up sometime when i get a chance. The mats are in decent shape, a lil polishing and they should look like new. They have been in my car for approx. 3 months. The reason why im selling them is b/c i traded the MP5 in for a S2000

enigM@
04-16-2003, 10:38 AM
i'm interested.. how much shipping to 07011?

do u mind taking pics? just to show the shape they're in

04-16-2003, 11:49 AM
For everyone that is interested i will find out the shipping prices this weekend, if i can fit the mats in my S2000 :D, and let you all know. I will also take pics of the mats, but the MP5 is gone so they wont be in place just laying on the floor but you will be able to tell the shape that they are in.
Thanx,
Mike

what kind of a design would leave the mats just sititing on the floor?? wtf?

The mats fit flush up against the sides, and is actually a tight fit. They do not move at all even with them just sitting there in place, and actually the trunk piece is a pain to get in and out b/c it is such a tight fit.

Also now since there are sooo many people interested in buying my used mats, i am going to try and make it fair by making it into an auction type deal. the highest offer so far is $60+shipping (which i will find out this weekend) and the highest offer on monday will get the mats. If anyone has any objections to this method or has a better way to make it fair please let me know.

REMillers
04-17-2003, 08:38 AM
As he said the mats do not need to be secured in anyway as they fit flush againts all the stops. Besides most people are not really into drilling holes and putting screws into their cars floor. So by making it non-screw fasten they can actually sell them better.

If you really want to be extra sure just stick some rubber feet under them. Cost about 1 dollar.

Actually the fronts take a little work to get them in, just like the rear plate.

same here.. I thought first one to ask gets it. (I think I was :()
sure extra money is good for seller, but this isn't eBay.
what do you think? xXMP5Xx

xXMP5Xx
04-17-2003, 01:12 PM
do you two have a reason as to why it should not go to auction, other than the fact that you were the first to show interest? I believe that the auction is more fair b/c it allows people who do not spend a lot of time online or the people who didnt have a chance to see them forsale until after someone else showed interest. i am just trying to give everyone a chance to get the mats at an extremely reduced price. i would love to get more opinions from people who are not involved in buying the mats b/c i want to be as far as possible, and i know that its usually done by first come first serve but there are sooo many people who have interest in getting these mats.

Bijou-MP5
04-17-2003, 01:28 PM
I'm not saying you are doing it wrong. It's your choice, but most of ppl in the forum, if they want to do with auction type, they ask for best offer gets the product. all I'm saying is that if you are trying to sell something, you might want to revise your words.
Don't get mad at me, I'm just pissed off that I can't get this thing lol (bowdown) happy bidding~

xXMP5Xx
04-17-2003, 01:32 PM
oh im not upset at all, i dont want you to be upset with me b/c i have not decided yet what method i am going to use. I see exactly where you are coming from and i posted a poll in off topic to see what other people's views are on this matter. i am not trying to get every penny i can out of these matts althought that would be nice lol, but i am actually trying to make it fair for everyone to get in on. I will most likely go with the results from the poll and what ever other people on this forum decide is the best way to sell em. and i did state the price as $50 + shipping and did not make it as best offer, so that would make it unfair to who the first person who sent me a response for the mats, but like i said i am still not sure what method i am doing so please do not get upset with me yet.

xXMP5Xx
04-17-2003, 01:32 PM
but if i do decide to go with the auction deal the highest offer now is $80 + shipping

Bijou-MP5
04-17-2003, 01:35 PM
since trunk plate by itself costs about 100, this $80 is not a bad deal~ ;)
