Ok so I love my tunes and hate it when I don't know if it is working. This has got to be the most confusing system I have seen. I can't here anything coming from the two deck speakers in the back. The 6x9's that say kenwood on them. I can't tell if the sub is on and I don't know it the amp is working properly as there are no lights lit on the amp like usual. I know everyone is going to laugh and I read the long post about the sub not being on. I have been messing with the radio all day. Any guidance would be much appreciated. Oh yeah this board rocks. If it was not for this board I would have disconnected the battery to have the head unit come back out. Thanks in advance.

if you open the trunk you should be able to hear the sub

there are no 6x9's in the back....just covers

Hold down the AM button to turn on/off the sub. Don't foget that the sub is controlled by the NF level, not the bass level.

And, there is an audio forum section

whoa whoa...

how many speakers are supposed to be in this setup? there are 2 in the doors up front, the little tweeter things by the mirrors, and the sub in the trunk. so where are the back speakers....i know they are not in the door, they are in the rear deck ...right?

*must go verify*

Dex:....there are 6x9 speakers in the rear. Remember just a few days ago, my Sub wasn't on. I had sound coming from the rear.

Ok so now I am stumped. I have a sub, 2 tweeters, two front speakers, and two speakers located in the back doors. This is what I have playing right now. The back covers that say kenwood on them are just that, Cover? God, I hope this is right.

sloop, your right

1 speaker in each door, 2 tweeters, and one sub in back.

The covers for the 6x9 kenwoods are just that...covers. This is where the MP3 had speakers, but the speed does not.

Fantastic, You have eased my mind. The reason I am having problems is because absolutely no documentation about the stereo system was given to me. Just the basic protege owners manual. I know that it is being delivered to me by Tuesday next wee. Sorry to be a bother. Thanks,

Yeah, check this thread (http://www.msprotege.com/vbb225/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10217) if you want more info about the speakers. digi168 confirmed the speaker locations when he got his car.

No problem, you aren't the only one that's been confused. Lots of info here on this site about the same type of confusions. Take a look at the search option, and you shall find.

Welcome aboard.

You should have got a manual on the Kenwood deck with the car.

Well.. I had no idea there were no speakers under the grills under the back glass. I wonder if any nice 6x9s would even fit? Why are there speaker grills there. Is it a carry over back panel from the MP3? My wife's ES doesn't have them.

I think it was posted that the grills in the back deck act as a vent for the sub.

From what I just read on the connected post, the Sub vents to the trunk; so I guess those are grills and nothing more.

Unfortunatly you cant fit speakers in the rear deck due to the sub and amp. they are in the way.
