Hi, new poster here to find out answer to my protege problem. Not new to forums so I searched. Can't find it. 93 Protege. I am turning left (and not doing it turning right) at greater than 30mph and at the entrance to the turn the car has this horrid transition from fine to like it has a bad wheel bearing or missing bushing or loose wheel or ??? Like an over-steer but not sure.

I grabbed the left rear tire while it is on the ground and shake it like you do specing cars at an auto-x to see if there is a bad bearing and you get play like a wheel bearing is bad. Ok, so I raise the car up and try again with no play??? WTH? I checked the bushings with a pry bar as best I could and found nothing on the right or left. I am sure it is the right rear that has this problem since it is the one loaded and due to the feel in the turn it has to be that corner.

Question: What is it?

A little of my past. I am a mechanical engineer, an ex-m3clubracer and just under and not an ASE cert mechanic and can get by doing almost anything...except electrical. Removed and replaced my 93 rx turbos in 5 hours (hense I am now known as non turbo phil cause I don't like them) and built my m3 club car so I know what I am doing at most times. I am just not very familiar with this car and maybe there is some special problem these cars have like most do. Please help! TIA!

Did you only check the rear left tire? I'd check them all - sometimes sounds have a funny way of traveling through the chassis to throw off their true location.

The bearing could be bad and still tight. You have to take it apart and see.
