So ive had a CEL for about a week now that comes and goes. I went to fill up this morning and noticed a very rough idle for a second or two until i gave it some gas....

I havent scanned the code yet but any clues?

To be honest, I have no idea where it is or what it looks like. I just know that this is exactly how my 3 behaved when mine got replaced.

I was throwing a P2188 for a while that nobody really helped me with. Came and went but it got worse lately. Finally found out my bpv recirc line wasn't on perfectly which created a tiny hole for air to escape. Essentially Functioned as a BOV and made my car run rich and shitty which caused a bad "lumpy" idle.

My guess would be something with your bpv as previosly mentioned.

was your idle goofy all the time coy or just after a fill up?

I was sitting at a light, and it started idling really low, and my CEL came on. It would run really rough at times until I was able to drive to the Mazda dealer. I stopped at a gas station to add some gas before dropping it off (I was running on fumes by this point) and it was so bad at re-start I wasn't sure I was going to get it started. When it finally fired, it bellowed out all sorts of smoke and smelled strong of gas. Ran like hell for the 3 block drive to the dealer.

interesting. Mine doesnt seem that extreme though. Mine only idles rough after i fill up. once i pump the gas a few times it seems to smooth out. IT has yet to die or stumble at any kind of stop. I suppose getting that cel code would help here.

Yeah your problem seems different. My issue was pretty sporatic. Can't remember if it happened worse after fillups but I doubt it. My air fuel still gets (still haven't had time to fix) very rich at times and the idle pops down and up / very rough. The recirc line isn't clamped down very well and I don't have my tools with me so it will have to wait for thanksgiving when I get it in my parents garage.

But +1 on that code. I bet that will give you an answer :)
