Now with winter approaching (although people in Cincinnati have no idea what REAL winter means(uhm) ) I wondering how bad the stock tires are. Supposedly they are year round tires.
Does anyone have experience with how badly the Mazda 3 (167 horsepower) handles in winter?
BTW: I have manual transmission.

feather the clutch, lol
what tires came on it? eagle gts? need more info
i had eagle gt's on my 08 3, with 156bhp, broke the tires loose all winter, in Georgia....so yeah......now i have 180bhp.........winter's gonna be fun. but i have switched to General Tire UHP summer tires, which so far grip better in water than the eagles did, but im assuming will be really squirly if we get any snow.....

shitty tires
In 26 years of driving I never had the need for winter tires. I always drive manual, front wheel drive, hatchbacks.
I have been through the Alps and Dolomites many times without any trouble.
But somehow I have a weird feeling about this car/the tires.
I only have 8900 miles on those tires and I would hate to ditch them before they are due for replacement. Tires are so expensive.
The ones I would really like are the Bridgestone Potenza G019 Grid. But I am lacking the cash right now
