he was talking on the phone, and he swerved to avoid a low flying pelican. He deserves it for not paying enough attention while driving his close to 2 million dollar car

Yeah, I guess money can buy really nice toys but it sure can't buy intelligence. I wonder how the guy that sold it to this idiot feels, he lived about 4 hours away from where I am. When it went up for sale, it made the news... Gotta love a small town.

It didn't look like he was dodging a pelican. It just looked like he rolled off the road and into the water very controlled-like.
Dumb-Ass.

Supposedly the guy owns a car restoration business and had a very similar occurence with an Enzo a few years back. Insurance wrote that car off and he bought it back then restored it. Hope he had GAP this time. lawl

The similar occurence with the Enzo was that infamous Eddie Griffin Enzo crash. He didn't own the car at the time but he bought it and started those "Save the Enzos" t-shirts and memes.
My bet would be this is an attempt to start something similar with the Veyrons..look for the t-shirts in two weeks. And him posting updates on how they are restoring this car.

The owner said to Jalopnik that the stories were made up by the tow truck driver when the media got there. And he dropped his phone and thats how he crashed..

how the fuck can you drop your phone in a car that more than likely has a device like a bluetooth so you can be hands free?
Sport6

haha you watch the latest top gear episode? (last night) Hammond tested out the Ferrari Californias bluetooth pairing and if the Bugatti's anything like that, I wouldn't want to have the hands free either...
Its most likely not like that but I am still suspect on the whole thing as it is. What are the odds of catching the crash on video. Especially since they guys seem to thing its a Lambo, who records a car on a off/on ramp? I guess you could question everything on youtube the same way but its just strange. Think its all set up though.

That Bugatti will never be the same. I find it strange they got it on video too. But then again cameras are everywhere and not many people know about cars.

where did you here this? the local news here (houston) said he was a real estate guy looking at property in the area. i mean, they may be wrong as well.... but that's never happened. :)
i don't find it strange that someone was video taping... or holding out the cell phone for a shot... cameras, even video are prolific these days. and digital is cheap. everyone is filming everything!
i dont' think the vid is faked, as i know that stretch where he went into the drink, and that's just what it would/should have looked like. the water literally runs right up to the road. and it was a very high tide that day..... i'm pretty sure the two in the car didn't have the skills to alter video THAT well.
not a lake either... that's a saltwater marsh... pretty bad on a car, that is.
