Getting noise up front that I thought was tire noise until tire shop said tyres were fyne. The noise stops when you turn the steering wheel a bit left. Jack up the car and the left front wheel has tiny bit of play when rocking wheel top to bottom (hands at 12 and 6) so I figure I need bearing changed.

1. Is this a bearing only change or does the hub get changed out?
2. Should I have both sides done? Car has 71k on it.
3. What am I looking at for parts and labor?

thx

Had the wheel hubs replaced on my Sable this summer. Bought the hubs from ebay for about 100 Canadian and paid Canadian Tire 250 to install them. Needed an alignment after ($50).

Bearings may be cheaper, but hubs cost less to install.

I was curious to know if there was a trade-off there. Mercury Sable?

We did trade it off, and got a Mazda5 instead:)

But probably not what you meant.

Both front drivers, ford(ish) families, no other parts need replacing etc.
