So I noticed on my 2 front rotors that theres a scratch line around the whole rotor, like something is rubbing and scratching it... metal to metal... the brake pads are about a yr old, so still lotsa meat on them. What could be causing it? Its not deep, but can be felt.
Here is a pic of the scratch...

Look on your brake pad/caliper and see if there is anything on there that could be doing it...

Ok so I took it apart and the whole rotor came loose too with the caliper... is that normal?? I wasn't expecting that. :) Never seen that before on other cars. When i put it back together the rotor was still loose until i put the tire back on... i guess that keeps it tight and in place?? Weird.

The caliper and brake pads hold the rotor in place and the tire secures it. Check to see where the pad lines up in relation to that scratch on the rotor. If you haven't had your rotors cut in a while and you've previously changed pads, it could just be the rotor wearing down where the pad makes contact with it.

I agree.
