Just a question for my own interest for you MSP experts.

I heard a rumor that the Mazdaspeed Protege (familia) was never offered in Japan. Is this true? if so, in what country's were the MSP's sold??

Yes i did do a quick search but i did not find my answer.

what set-up did tghe sport20 have?
They might be the closest thing to a msp outside of North America

wasn't the final assembly of the MSP done in the US? like the turbo ect, done by racing beat.
I wouldn't be suprised if the prototype or one of the finished products was tested in Japan.
Maybe the prototype was an MP3 that they boosted.
Where the Mp3s found in Japan?

The Mazdaspeed Familia WAS offered in Japan, except not as a turbo, but with an FS-ZE and a bunch of other goodies such as projector headlights, etc...

Are any of these parts bolt on for the North American MSP? It sure would be nice to order up a set of the projector headlights, instaed of paying $800 to have some one make them up here.

Thanks for the info, that protege323.com site is awesome. I downloaded the 2001 masdaspeed protege pdf. Some interesting facts there. I would like to see more detailed specs on the modified 2.0l they put in there. I wonder if the stainless steal exhaust manifold from that car will fit my 2.0l (p5). Only 100 ever made though so pretty danm rare.

I'm pretty sure the sport 20 was the only one with projectors, Corksport sells the projector head lights on their website with a hefty price tag.
