Ok, I have searched the forums and cannot find what I am looking for. I have a set of RX8 wheels and am going to put 235/40s on them. I have stock suspension and am not planning on lowering any time soon. My question is is anybody using this setup? Do you rub? Did you have to roll the rear fenders?

what is the offset for the RX8 wheels? If it's mid to high 40's you should be fine.

Depends on the tire brand/model. Some people rub in the rear with certain 235/40-18 tires on RX-8s with stock suspension, but mostly it's when the rear is loaded or on hard turns.

I'm getting a set of Kumho LX Platinums 235/40-18 mounted on my RX-8s this weekend. Crossing fingers I don't rub.

I believe 50.5+. Definitely in the low 50s.

Let me know how it works out. I just ordered 235/40ZR-18 Hankook Ventus R-S2

They'll rub with a cone wedged in there...just a thought.

Offset of the RX-8s is et50.

I've run 235/40R18 Kumho XS and 235/40R18 Nitto NT-05 with stock suspension and no rubbing. It's close, and I may roll my rear fenders one of these days just for good measure (and definitely before I get around to installing coilovers) but for now it's working out. (thumb)

I ran RX8s with 235/40/18 azenis in the summer and I had no rubbing issues with stock suspension.

I got these tires mounted last night. I have not had any rubbing issues yet, but have not been very aggressive. They seem to be more quiet than the OEM and the BFG Supersport A/S I had on. Steering with this size seems a little more heavy, but traction seem a lot better (drive2)

Really? Mine make quite a bit more noise over stock. Could just be the tread pattern.

Well, my car has almost 48,000 miles on it and I switched out the stock bridgestones at about 19,000 miles. When I got rid of them, they were loud as all hell. When I got my BFG Supersports, they were quiet at first, now they are really loud as well. The Hankooks are quiet vs the BFGs, but they are new. I am expecting them, just like all the other high performance tires, to get loud after a few thousand miles.
