I'm willing to bet that you're riding on the shocks in the rear. I'm lower than that without the lower ring removed.

Speaking of the RS-2s... how do you like them so far? I know you can't give a full review since you just put them on, but what is your initial impression of them? I have a set in my attic waiting to go on next season.

Haven't driven them enough, but my friend had them on his suby and he loved 'em.
Im getting a nasty clunk up front now. It doesn't change much with speed and it happens after I've driven a few hundred feet (ie. I can drive out of my driveway and down the street before it starts clunking)
It clunks when going straight at low speeds and is in consistent...maybe more of a binding sound than a clunk.
Not sure what it could be, but obviously I gotta tear into it again.
Are there common issues with BC's and going low up front?
Thanks.

Double check the brackets that hold the brake lines on the coilovers themselves. Most people have had to bend them so that they don't contact the wheels. Could be worth looking into. Also if you didn't before the install, set the front preload properly by snugging the set ring so that the spring doesn't move at all. Then snug up the lock ring and tighten the set ring until there is a 5mm gap between them. Then just tighten the lock ring to keep everything there and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the input. You are my go to guy for questions on this car now (attention)
All my experience is with Suby's so this is all Greek to me!
Thanks guys, I am in love with how the car looks on 17's as well. I personally wanted RPF1's but after seeing so many with them I am glad I chose the works (naughty)

JeffrWRX
10-26-2009, 10:08 PM
I dont carry passengers, LOL
I took the front left wheel off and I cant see anything there thats loose or rubbing...
I do have a spacer that is not hubcentric so I think thats an issue. Then when driving home I could hear somethign rubbing at low and mid speeds. It would increase with speed and it sounds like its dragging on rubber...
sigh.... I knew this would take some work :(
CnoTataymo
10-26-2009, 10:18 PM
Try checking the inside of your wheel/tire. Did you happen to either bend or take out the bracket that holds the brake line with the endlink? It could be that.

My fronts can go about another 1/2" lower, but the rears cant.... I give up LOL

Can't be that cold in San Diego. I don't remember it ever getting below 40s. Although, riding on a bike in the 40s would be freezing. Nice car.

Try loosening the bottom collar/ring and turn the base of the assembly to make it shorter. That's what I did.

el oh el
Mine seem to be bottoming out on the cup before the rings are contacting each other. It wouldn't go much lower with the lock ring in anyway but I could always remove it if they would go lower.

Or I meant loosen the bottom ring and turn the sleeve. But yeah, you could always remove the lower ring.

looking at about the same setup soon, except different wheels, but the same size and offset. I already have BC coilovers. Is there room to run a 255?

You could fit a 255, but you would probably need 15mm up front and run lots of camber in the rear, along with a big pull. I don't think its impossible though.
Here some pics with the 10mm spacers in the rear.
I also installed some racks, I want to take some nice pics again cause it looks badass. (lick)
