Well as i was vacuuming my car today i realized that the rear passenger side door had some water damage. To the right of the handle was little miscolored and seem like it had popped out a bit from water. Then i took out my mat in the rear and realized that in the bottom right corner was a little wet and miscolored and underneath the stained spot it seemed like the carpet was a little wet and miscolored also. What do i do? Keep an eye on it and see if it gets worse or should i figure it out? Next time i get an oil change im gonna ask the dealer what they think the problem is.

On some Proteges there are problems with the weather seal on the rear doors. I have a 99 and I had this problem (the rubber seal around the door) was just about falling off. If you have a problem with this seal water could leak in. As for the carpet being wet, its probably from the water that leak in through the door, unless its everywhere then maybe you have a hole in the floor (from rust). It also may seem unlikely but i've seen it happen, if your rear window was open just slightly (enough so you couldn't tell but was open a little), water could have leaked in that way too.
Regarding the weather seal btw, if this is the case (just check it, if its loose or hanging in some spots) then just buy a small bottle of sillicone, clean off the old glue from the door frame and the ruuber, and just sillicone it back on. Did this on my car, took all of 5 minutes and haven't had any problems since.

Thanks, I'll have to check that.
