Hey guys ive been wanting to make this thread for some time and now that we have a Photo/Video section here it is..this thread is a timeline with pictures of how far my car has come from day 1..u are intitled to ur opinion in this thread but keep the drama to a minimum. no threadjacking!!! here we go!

Bought my 2006 Black Mica MazdaSpeed 6 GT in November 2006 #2717

After a quick wash, it was cold outside.

My 1st Mods at 500 miles or so were an AEM CAI, Rear MM, Silverstar High Beam Lights and i poilished up the Valve Cover. apologize for the bas pics, back then i used my cell phone.

In 2007 the first mods were the Custom Exhaust and Painting the Emblems RED, at the time i was going for a red and black theme.

In the spring/summer of 2007 i put on the CP-E FMIC, changed the transmission, differential, and PTO Fluids i dont have any pics of that though TWM Stage 2 SS, and the Shorty Antenna.

Here's what the car looked like before the big FMIC kit.

I then decided to change my FMIC setup and went with Altered Customs FMIC kit.. the core is 30 x 8 x 3.5. I decided to dress up the engine bay alittle bit..with this setup my CAI had to be changed to an SRI. I also added some Denso Spark Plugs while i had everything apart.

im putting the car on a dyno next month hopefully..ill post the numbers and various pics and dyno sheets then.. track numbers are going to have to wait till the end of the month, theres a show at NED ( New England Dragway) and ill be showing/hopefully getting some good numbers in the 1/4 mile.

yeah, needs tint. and dont be a wussy either, get dark tint. i have uber dark tint and i have had 0 trouble from the "law". my buddy got his civic tinted just noticably and that day got a warning. next day got a ticket lol.

Nice and well done. Only thing I wanted to ask is about the intercooler hanging a little low below the grill. Did you cut the crash bar? It just look weird to me.

i actually get that question alot..the crash bar isnt cut at all..which was a descision made by me and my local body tech, its there for a reason, that reason being safety in a front end crash, so its there to stay lol..and to add to that my personal feeling is that removing the bar would make the car unsafe from a unibody standpoint as it is tied into it, so if u auto x it or drive it hard u could twist the unibody with the bar removed or cut.

Not gonna happen.. if my car is rice as u say, then theres alot of riced out MS6's out there, (crazy) it covers up the UGLY grey wire loom and exposed wires that come stock on the car, im sure if u removed the TMIC before u would see that.. pictures make that blue loom come out really light in color,its all dark blue.. goes with my theme, my goal with the car is to make it be a show car and race car. that engine bay u say is "rice" (rlaugh) will hopefully push over 350 AWHP next month on a dyno..

Overall, I really like the work you've done. The blue isn't for me, but at least you did it completely, so it looks good.

My own personal dislike is the way you did the exhausts, not using the valence piece. I prefer the cleaner look, but different strokes for different folks. Very nicely written listing too.

EDIT - I didn't see any pics of the Corksport TBE, but I'd like to see the rear with that installed.

yes it'll look better soon .. i have the brand new plastic pieces for both sides of the rear bumper coming in along with the bezels, the corksport is said to sit inside the bezels and im going to powdercoat the bezels black.. should look stock looking but it wont be hehe.. ill post the pics up when its all installed, it looks kinda goofy now because the corksport is way smaller then the piece i had cut out for the old exhaust...

haha well i was getting better then factory mileage before putting on the DP, Exhaust Mani.. and then i also switched my exhaust.. so now.. get ready for this.. im getting about 18 highway :'(, lol i know thats bad and about 14 city :'(.. those are numbers from last week.. so its sorta like having a V8.

but i mean if u drove my car u wouldnt care about the gas mileage, its way too much fun!!!!!

update:

the rims came out good but werent anymore shiny then u see them in the pictures but they are better protected then before against road grime, brake dust etc..

added in my current mods list, along with my in transit parts list which never seems to go away haha..

will be adding more pics of the new stuff and im working on some mid summer photos that i want to add..

also there has been a change somewhere on the car, ull see it next month..

ever think of gettin a custom tune? my mpg went up about 2-3mpg and the car feels alot nicer.

Wow converting a 2.3 DISI from TMIC to FMIC is kind of a pain in the ass huh? That hot pipe is crazy long.. but I guess the cold pipe comes right off the FMIC into the intake doesn't it?

And lol at the attempt to cover your license plate..

sure is a PITA haha.. the second time around was easy.. yeah i stopped trying to cover up the license plate IMO it looks like ass no matter which way u do it..the cold pipe is short going to the throttle body.. not the intake.. if my cold pipe was hooked up to my intake it would cause an issue.

Much lower BAT's.. Boost Air Temps.. while i have not dyno'd the car yet.. the car has felt better on acceleration since the change. another reason i changed is my plan for the car wouldve pushed CP-E's core past its efficiency ratings.. my BAT's on average have been 10 to 15 degree's lower depending on the ambient temperature.. which is a big improvement..

haha christmas is coming up so i gotta spend my cash on that stuff first.. nope havent touched my CDFP,i have internals for it.. will be installing them before dyno day on the 21st of november.. but to date no issues..

you know i havent had any issues with the car really.. aside from the recent HID kit failure, which im guessing was why the kit was so cheap..other then that its been smooth sailing.. the cars engine bay looks way different then in the pics i have posted.. the new ones are gonna be up next week..

ive been running it for over a year and a half or so.... i havent heard one backfire in about a month or so, but it does it from time to time when the weather is warmer.. i havent had any issues with running vta..

do you have an pictures of the rear? i know when you had your custom exhaust you had cut out the fake tips but was wondering if since you got the corksport you got new inserts or left them out. i put the upgraded corksport hangers in and now the damn thing rattles so much on those fake tips.

i left it like it was.. doesnt look bad at all. makes it easier to clean the exhaust.. ill try to get a pic this afternoon

Car's looking good Boosted. I really like that color blue you used on the engine. Looks much better w/o the blue wire covers you had on there when I saw it. Was today the meet down the cape? I couldn't make it due to other plans.
Have you ever thought about painting those 2 silver pieces that hold your lip up black?

theres actually a dual lip.. the outer lip which you can see and then if u feel the inside of it theres another lip thats a 1/4 shoter then it.. so really ur pushing back the thickness of 2 lips rather then 1 while you roll them.. its cool.. im guessing the inner lip is the skin of the car..

Whats size tires are you running on the OZ's. Im going to get a set myself after this Xmas and run them next summer (running the tires off that are on it now). I just saw you rolled the fenders....My guess was to run the 18X7's with 215 45's to avoid doing that.

running 225/45/18's and the O.Z.'s are 18x8.. i rolled the rear fenders slightly. honestly it was well worth it for me to get the 18x8's..

Thanks man.. i clean it every other day.. the pollen is killing me as of late. Kimbo (the cars nickname) will lay dorment for 3 months during the build.. When it comes back you will be able to eat off of every part of the car, but then youll have to clean it up (lol2)

ahh i posted it in the What have you done to your 6 today thread that i didnt like how it looked against the black mica at all.. so i stripped it all off, the lights actually look brand new now that i did that.. those pics are from today.

if you have a blow thru setup, why are you calling cp-e about a 3.25" maf? going back to regular setup? if you stay blow-thru there is no point since the throttle body isn't that big.

yeah its alot dirtier then i wouldve liked on the firewall and on top of the transmission and im kinda embarresed its that dirty, ill clean it up a bit and snap a few pics. Ill be doing some heat film on the firewall, similar to Josh's (Altspace's) firewall film.. its super expensive, but well worth it and its gold so i may tie that into the cars theme somehow..

car is running took it for alittle test drive

i ran the test fairly conservative compared to the limits of the turbo, i had it at 18psi id say 27-32psi would be my race tune, mind you this is a GTK-500 not a K04 boost isnt fully kicked in till about 4000rpm, scared the shit outta me.

i dont get full 100% traction till mid 2nd gear on street tires, gotta fix that. although the car still moves, in order to run low 12's high 11's or better at the track im going to need slicks.

but man. its EPIC. much too fast to ride around town with.

no issues so far, was alittle worried about the axles and transmission

its about 50% done, theres alot more that needs to go into the full build then just the big power. but getting all the work done and getting it back running was half the battle.

well although i have driven it its no where near done.. when its 100% picture worthy ill post pics, half the engine is back out of the car. no issues with it, just need to fine tune some things and mount things in different areas to make it look uber clean when im done.. basically i just threw everything together for the test run, and now im making it look all purdy and such.

i mean i guess a similar setup to compare it with would be SSinstaller's on MSF..

cant post a link here though. we all know why.. (hand)

yeah was working on it about 16 hours a day on average for quite a while, now after the test run im doing it in little spurts beacause its more time consuming when everything is all powdercoated to re-install things without scratching them..

He went bt, and just like everyone before struggled around the stock fuel system and its injectors limitations. I believe he blew injectors seals left right and center. Then he said Fuck it and bought a faster Lexus isf. That's what I have pieced togeather,but I may be wrong.
