Hey Guys

Wondering if any of you know how to tell the difference between the stock Mazda springs and the racing beats. I'm thinking of lowering the car, either with H&R springs or those from Racing Beat and the ones under the car are red, which I presume isn't stock.

Thanks

the racing beat springs sold by us and on RB's site aren't exactly the same as stock mp3 ones, but you won't notice much swapping to them vs stock.

Is there a size-able difference between the stock and H&R springs. I know its a pretty heavy drop. Is anybody running those springs with 215/45/R17s? Any rubbing?

Thanks for the quick reply.

sorry for the jack but it is relevant to this thread. im looking to do the same think with MP3 and stock struts but i think the H&R's only have a 1.3" drop. im looking for more. 2" at the most. but im looking to keep the same handling as well as the drop.

ive found the Megan racing springs have a 2" drop and also have a stiffer spring rate.

Are there any other springs that improved or the same handling as stock MP3 springs and have atleast a 1.7" drop?

the h&r's and mp3 struts have been on my ES too.. i'd say the front looks like a 1.3". my rear wheel gap was huge but it dropped it well. i'd have to say the rear dropped more than 1.3" lol.

i have no experience with megan springs. here's the mp3 struts + h&r combo. again, handles real well. my suspension has been whored on 3 different proteges lol

I have tein s-techs on my car and I love the look... some say its "raked" but I like it. I think the drop is 1.8" up front and 1.5" in the rear. Someone correct me if im wrong tho.

I will try and find a pic as well

You will want to go with a better than stock strut if you plan to use megan springs. Also, megan springs are super stiff....too stiff for a daily IMO. I use to have them on my MP3

I'm running the stock tokicos. Why would I need new shocks?

And I'm 18 I use this car for auto x, and driving to school. I don't mind the stiffness at all.

Do you have any rubbing issues with the megan springs?

I did not have rubbing with the megans, but there are several factors that would cause you to rub. You might wanna look into Illuminas for struts since they are adjustable. Having the megans will feel like you dont even have suspension, just solid bricks

Well I don't really want to upgrade shocks. I don't have much money but I'd like to lower the car more as well as improve handling. And the megans are reasonably cheep and get good reviews.
