i had the same issue, i had a 3 prong connector at the end that plugs into the car wiring, but needed a 2 prong. i just searched the F/S section and bought the 03 MSP fog harness from a partout. maybe the one i had originally and the one that dub sold you are for the base model protege's? (es/lx)
I ran into that problem as well when I had my Protege. Just get four male and four female spade connectors. Cut the old ones off, crimp the new ones on and you're set. Be sure to get the ones with covers.

if you hardwire them you'll have to dangle your foglights every time you wanna take off the bumper... i'd go with some quality spades if i were you...probably easier even than hardwiring

you need the fog light harness from a Protege SEDAN! Not the Protege 5.

radio shack sells things like this that are rated to reasonable amperages. this one is 20A per connector, i dont know what the rating on the fog circuit is.
theyre sold in pairs, individually, 2 pin, 4, 6, 12... a ton of options. i have a set for a project im working on but i havent used them yet.
