So I finally got the mp3 up and running after puting a new motor in it. Its not licensed or anything but I had a friend ask me how fast I had it...which hasn't been fast at all since its not licensed but I was curious of what it is capable of. I know its not reaaaal fast but I did notice its quick. So basically I was curious what's the top speed of this thing?

You have a valid point haha. Yeah I just want to know what it can do. Like I said I barely drove this thing so I guess I have to wait. I was just wanting a ruff number or how fast anyone has had theirs.

Haha yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm not expecting something outrageous as it is completly stock lol. I just didn't know if it could make it to that or if it was govern'd(sp) or anything.
yeah cars not fast stock. fun as hell to drive tho!

Mine is quick... I beat dudes on their bikes(yupnope) No they are not govern'd. You theroridicaly could go up past 140 till you run out of gears but the small engine can not overtake the wind resistance at that speed stock. If you want a top speed car go buy a car ready for the salt flats. We handle good and are a blast to drive. Plus there is no need to go that fast

Agreed. There is really no need to ever go above 90 mph, and even that's more than necessary in most situations.
But to answer the OP's question, I think the stock motor can do about 125 mph if you had a long enough stretch to do it on.

Well i have an 02 protege built and boosted, and itll go right up to ~138 b4 it hits the limiter. it still has about 800rpm to go, but thats all she wrote.

Yeah I have no plans on testing that I was just curious. I can't afford to go that fast and get caught haha. I'm just more curious about this car more than anything. Just bought it 3 weeks ago and didn't know much about it. Learning more and more everyday.
The only way to go over 138-140 mph on these cars is to go for the fifth gear swap... and that'll only give you so much.
Best bet is a full swap with a 626 box... that'll give you a theoretical 150 mph plus top speed... but you'll need a turbo and lots of space to actually hit that...

Was once. I take handleing over speed. You can have the fastest car in the world but if it can not take the turns, it is not that fun to drive.
