welcome it looks nice, my advice to you would be to weld the lsd and start saving for a forged motor before you do anything, wish i would have done it that way

how about do i go on welding the LSD? cause i saw their pretty weak on this car.. and doesnt take much to kill it. but since im in the army.i got access to the BEST shop possible with unlimitted amounts of tools. so ill prolly just buy a new LSD and put it in or save it. and for the Forged parts.. im not really looking to make a race car i want a fun DD. i pretty much want like 260-275whp. in that area just for a fun is all im after

you will not get there on stock rods, if you do manage do make it to that, your always going to be weary of throwing a rod through the block, that much whp is pretty much race car with these cars haha

after looking over that thread! yes this is that axis guys old car. since you all knew him decently over this. did he take good care of the car?

03MSProtege
10-06-2009, 12:32 AM

hah, he almost bought mine.. i've talked to him on AIM quite a bit. however he told me there was exhaust on the car... honestly, axis beat on that car almost as badly as he beat on his MS3, which is now blown up. but to my knowledge the car is pretty solid.

if i could get ahold of axis.... does this car have a new tranny?

Wagonbacker9

I'm almost sure its got a welded LSD, which is the MAJOR weakpoint of these cars...

03MSProtege

well i had a tune up done on it. and everything thing on it is healthy. no stress on the motor or any parts. its running like a champ if you have AIM. im me Freestylebmxrda1.

besides the block, if im not mistaken he sold the lsd, you can click on his profile and look at the threads he created

he put an LSD in it, that I'm sure of. he thought he snapped that one too, but it was really just an axle that popped out because it wasn't reassembled correctly. I just don't remember for sure if he put a welded one in.

if u get an lsd get the mfactory. do not waste money on a quafe or a stock welded lsd! the mfactory is only 100 dollars more than the factory welded and it is a quality piece compaired the the quafe! DO NOT weld ur used stocker! the welds will likely crack and cause the lsd to brake and fail!

the welds on a used stocker usually are just done after the housing starts to fail, the do not CAUSE it to fail.

+1, cept SU was like $120 cheaper... lol

the only validity in his point is that welding an already used diff will usually fail eventually. if its welded NEW, I don't believe there have been any failures reported yet.

that is why i did not go su, they are known to use used lsd's to weld, hense the fact they are so much cheaper

i got the dated invoice... how much of a supply of non-snapped used LSDs can there be? honestly, I don't buy it.

im not saying that revised welded lsd's are bad, im just saying if ur gonna spend the money on one get an aftermarked quality peice. why would u want a welded stocker over an bad ass aftermarket?
