I hope im in the right section here... im just wondering which is the best gear when using the dyno...for our cars obviously...i ve heard 4th, 5th but i need to know if there is any big difference

Im sure the tuner that is running the dyno on your car should know whats best for your car with his dyno.

You normally want to operate a chassis dyno with the car in the gear closest to a 1:1 ratio between speed of the input shaft and output shaft of the transmission.

For us that, I would think most dyno operators would want you to do your pulls in 5th gear, which is, I believe, about 1.085:1.

4th. all datalogs and dyno's and shit are done in 4th. Pull from 3k to redline. If you do a pull in 5th you are loading the motor up too much.
