Came out to my car after class to find someone decided to take a look around the inside. They stuck a screwdriver in the lock on the drivers side door and twisted it so hard that it broke the handle around where the lock is and unlocked the doors of course. It was just hanging there. They took an Ipod, GPS and dumped the ashtray for the $4 in change....not cool...(pissed)

been there buddy. only they couldn't get the lock to completly unlock so they broke the window too. ripped the radio out, destroyed the dash and not to mention stole my backpack the week before finals.

I was lucky they didn't break the window. My lock actually still works too and they left my stereo, I think thats because they didn't find the faceplate. I couldn't imagine losing my bag before finals, I would hate to fail a test because of some jacka** that stole my bag.

Why didn't your alarm blast away when the door opened? It's always a good idea to have an alarm with an impact sensor and backup battery/siren as well.

my shock sensor only goes off if you drop the hood with the alarm armed... lol.

Mine was broken in a few years ago even if it was armed. Those fvckers know how to disable it; they even armed it back after they stole some coins out of my ashtray.

Sorry to hear about that, I'm starting to think that our cars are almost as easy to break into as honda!

They actually have to break your lock to get in? A mechanic at a local dealership showed me how to get into the car in just ten seconds without the use of a screwdriver, slim jim or rock... (locked my keys in the car... had to call for dealership support)... appallingly easy compared to most other 2000 and up compacts.

That all depends on the alarm. There some dual battery, dual siren alarms out there are that are NOT easy to disable. Then again, they cost alot more than $200.

I don't want to broadcast what I have, but I recommend that you talk to a knowledgable alarm shop person about the attributes of each type. That's what I did and in doing so, got a feel for which one would be hardest to defeat.

If it's got windows it's easy to break into.

The only alarm worth getting is one that calls your cell.

When was the last time you came running because you heard someone's alarm going off? ;)

My car has been broken into two times. the second time i cought them. What they do in my neighborhood is wait until a heavy storm comes by, so that my car alarm is masked by the thunder and heavy rain. The second time they did it, i had purposly left one of my car doors unlocked, and my alarm has a door sensor. so all of a sudden at 1 am i hear my alarm going off. I run outside with my shotgun yelling at the top of my lungs, wearing boxers and a tshirt LOL

Yeah... that loud CLICK CLICK of a pump action shotgun makes anyone shit themselves... I seriously question what I might do to these people stealing from me if i catch them. I get really angry easily. But then again, georgia has the shoot first law... hmmmm
