Has anyone on here replaced their turbo with the MS6/3 turbo yet? If so, what were the gains/losses/differences?

ours is smaller, theirs uses the k04.
I'm just trying to find out if anyone has upgraded to this one to see if it's worth it.

but are they the same trim?
maybe that was the difference?
its a bit tough trying to sift through these threads as to what the actual differeces are. one thread says its a smaller turbo, others have said the turbine blades/trim are different

i know its the same K04 turbo... but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they put a different trim version in an SUV compared to a sport sedan/wagon.

according to onlinemazdaparts.com they both cost the exact same down to the penny. They don't list a part number though...

friend works at mazda dealership, part number is slightly different from the cx7 turbo.
Heres what i read on some other sites:
"There are differences bewteen the two turbochargers. One is the exhaust housing is way smaller on the CX7 and also the compressor wheel is smaller. The housings look physically the same but once you get close, you will see differences."
"not the same turbo.... that cx7 turbo has smaller dimensions for increased low and mid power, it will run out of breath early early. you can run the same psi, but you will have much less cfm. someone recently went through this with dropping a cx7 engine in a ms6"
"the cx7 has a smaller compressor housing."

Same turbo. All of the TSB's call out the same replacement parts when specified.
