I've been looking to lower my car for awhile, and want to do it on a budget. I saw the Megan Racing springs for $130 shipped from a MR vendor, and wanted to hear your comments before I go ahead and get them. How do they ride? Do they sag? Install issues? I also hear they lower about 1.6" instead of the 2.0" they claim so some pictures and clarification would be nice.

Don't know that much about the Megan springs but give this a read (if you haven't already).

I had them on my protege for awhile. They are super stiff

they are pretty stiff, and should be matched with illuminas rather than just the blues. i have my illuminas set the highest setting up front, and one less in the rear. the dampening force with the blues isnt high enough.

i havent had any problems, and youre right, dont quite get the 2 inch drop claimed. i have 20/50-16 and i cant get two fingers inbetween the tire and the well, so it is a pretty decent drop

I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest the Eibach Pro kit with Tokico blue struts.

Not just cause i'm selling a set, but, because i really do love my setup!

It's the perfect drop so it's not too low, but sits low enough to be sporty.

Handling is great with no load on teh springs and they stiffen up right away for cornering.

any lowering springs with stock struts is gonna ride like crap

IMO if you want a drop the eibach pro kit doesnt go low enough even more true if you have 16 inch wheels.

I used megan racing springs on my old EGT,on Tokico S/R struts
I have to say I along with everyone else that drove the car loved them.

Even the guy that has the car now couldnt believe how great the ride was on those springs.. They were honestly 20x better than i imagined, being plenty firm but equally as forgiving on rough road. Spring rates were 300F 250R IIRC.

1.4 inches drop is all you need. Any lower with just springs (not coilovers) and you start to eph up the suspension geometry.

I have them on my fiances p5. And theyre only on kyb gr2.. It could greatly benefit from nicer struts but as is the car handles great. Im running msp rh with 225/45/17 rubber, no wheel gap at all.
