Does anybody have a write up or any experience on removing the head from our car. Much appreciated if anybody does have information.

Get a shop manual from autozone or a place like that. It will show you step by step what to do.

already have a shop manual, wanted to know if theres anything i should know about removing it before i start, just from looking the intake manifold looks like a pain to remove.

the timing belt is a lil tricky

i would get some ARP head bolts while u r there

I agree about getting some ARP head studs! Make sure you have some extra bolts, RTV sealant, all the right gaskets, water pump, timing belts/possibly serpentine, maybe even a cometic multi-layer head gasket.

Try to memorize where all the wires go, if not put tape on the ends and put a number to match the other end.

For what reason will you be removing the head?

im removing the head because i installed an manual boost controller and my mechanic turned the boost up and now there is a loud ticking in the valve. I went and took the valve cover off and spark plugs up and tried turning the engine to top dead center but it doesn't line up on the cam gears, so i think that the belt jumped a tooth when the boost was turned up and i bent a valve in the head. Hopefully its that and nothing else to major cause theres oil in the 4th cylinder and carbon build up in the other 3

No joke, I would make my mechanic pay to have it fixed.

can't really be an asshole to the guy cause hes a close friend and has helped out a lot and has never charged me or my family for anything but he feels guilty regardless

May need a new motor if it's bad. How much was the boost turned up, was he playing with the car or were you?

then he needs to help you fix it if he's feeling "guilty"
why the fuck did he even turn up the boost to begin with? people who fix other's peoples cars have no right to fuck with any settings and just do what they were told to do!

do yourself a favor and pull out the radiator to give yourself more room when removing the exhaust manifold and peace of mind that you will not puncture the radiator while working a tool. take pics if you need to remember how everything was prior to dissassembly.

no reason to be a nice guy about it

I broken/lost my friend's shit before and guess what? I had to pay for it
