This is true, i've got a friend in AZ with a 600+whp TT R32, and it murders cars, and is a daily driver. Here's some shots from last year of it...

Give me a break, the VR6 is a way better engine that MS3's platform, and the power gains on a boosted R32 are a bit more bulkier than MS. I'd much rather own an R32 over any MS out there... 240hp AWD 6-speed in a hatch? Honestly, it has to be the better car, and being the last model VW to come equipped the almighty VR6, i'd be more than stoked to own it. Not to mention with an exhaust w/ no cats - it sounds amazing. As for the TT vs. SC, the power is greater with the TT's, and as for SC'ing an R32... i've seen good results with them, but the TT's pull better numbers overall. R32's own MS's.

Yeah dude, the newest model is garbage - they look like an egg and looks way too close to a Civic Si - which is an equal amount of garbage(evil)

But i'm tossing up the idea of either getting a 2003 R32, or a 2002 WRX, i'd rather not go with VW considering they are a bit more to maitnence, plus I have always wanted a 2-door hatch, but then again you just can't go wrong with a Subaru in Alaska - it's by far the best car for the elements, and I love the bug-eyed Rex's with STi projectors - SO clean.

Don't get me wrong, I think VW/Audis are excellent cars when they're running properly. Their build quality and overall performance is very good for the price. My own experiences with VWs and Audis have been lackluster - nothing wrong with their performance, build quality, etc. but all 3 have broken down at some point with a costly repair pretty much as soon as the warranty ran out. Now you can call bad luck but let me put it this way. My neighbor is a younger guy and loves his VW Golfs (previous gens, has 2 of them) and is a service writer at a local VW dealership and even he admits he would never recommend a VW to a friend due to their suspect reliability. Now that's saying something.

Awesome cars if you have some sort of mechanical ability. Sensors for those are cheap now because they mow through so many of them. It just got tiresome. I traded my GTI in on the MS3. From the performance stand point, I totally made out. In the overall fit, finish, interior, and ride quality, not so much.

What's your deal with somebody giving their opinion on an open forum? Thats retarded, seems like your taking things a bit too personal, all I was saying is from my experience. I don't think you should hold much against me for merely shedding my thoughts on what i'd love to own, it really shouldn't ruin your day man. I just find it quite annoying at the fact that people (like your awesome-self) choose to bash a good/decent ride just because of the hear/say. Especially a pocket rocket like the R32, and for being stock with 240hp w/ AWD and 6-speed, i'd say its a great buy. Though I understand the dispute between the SC/TT setup, it still isn't my point. I was just stating my opinion that I believe the R32 is a better buy than an MS3. So for the record: I'm sorry for spouting about my dream R32, didn't mean to hurt feelings.

Anyways, I too have owned a VW, a 2000 Jetta with a VR6, and though I had modded a lot of shit, had to keep up on all the maintenance issues; it was still a reliable/quick car. I had Neuspeed intake, header, exhaust, chip, high-comp. cams, bored over and stroked to a 2.9 w/ all new internals, throttle body, and a short shifter... and with a professional tune; it ran like a fucking champion. I had a good time with that car, and always turned heads, it was clean and done well. VR6's own.

If you can support the costs of owning a German engineered vehicle, its gonna be just fine. I find it hilarious these days when I see friends or people in the same vehicle who's VW's are running like shit, or they put excessive bolt-ons onto a a vehicle with check engine lights on and such. If you can't keep your car running right, but you choose to invest on go-fast parts, your an idiot.

When it comes to comfort, i'd say GTI's have that, Jetta's on the other hand; don't have anything inside the vehicle that make it a nice ride, even the back seat sucks - I felt bad driving friends, it's like sitting against a leather board. Passat's have way nicer interiors, but are made for more comfort/slight luxary. That's another reason I want an R32, they have Recaro seats, and just like the GLI's, the interior is more plush than the average GTI.

No chris dell has a TC R32 that was nasty it had 500+whp. He is taking it back to stock to fix up a s4 now.

They are buck-nasty with a turbo, they sound insane - just like SRT4's with their rumbling exhaust note, only with the VW you get that euro-tuned sound, almost like a cheap Ferrari sound haha. You got any pics of your buddy's R32?

None. I would never have an issue with someone spouting their opinions, I do it all the time. You're certainly entitled to speak your mind but when you make stupid one-liners and declare that "R32s own MS's" without ever having owned EITHER it kinda makes you look juvenile to say the least (my apologies if you have owned both and have firsthand ownership experience).

I don't recall bashing anything other than stating facts (up here in Canada, R32s were definitely more expensive than MS3s). I'm pretty objective and even give praise but suspect reliability is something I can't ignore when I only have one car at my disposal. Like I already said, I personally feel that VW/Audis are really good cars when they run well. Unfortunately, it seems that they tend to have quite a few more problems than most other imports.

That's a pretty uneducated statement. The turbo or supercharger size has everything to do with how much power any kit can put down, it doesn't matter what type of setup it is. The only reason your friend is able to put 700HP down with his TT setup is because his turbos are large enough to support that number, and he has the money to drop into building the engine and trans to survive that much power. Most likely the SC kits out there are not big enough to support that type of power, but with enough money (like your friend has), anybody can piece together their own SC kit that can easily make the same power as a TT setup.
