ECU question. Need help!!

:confused:ok I need a yes or no on something real quick. Its my ECU, its bad so i need a new one for my car. Now my ecu # FS7-18881-B, I found one in the web the number is FS8L-18881-C. I have no idea how this ecu work on mazdas.. so i need to know if this ecu will work... my is car is a 5 spd. and the one on the web is as well. So any help will be thankfull. thanks!!!

i don't know if it would work but can the ecu be flashed and reprogrammed? Check the for sale section there is someone is can maybe reprogram it for you or even better get the mp3 ecu flashed on and pick up a bit of power.

the FS8L ECU is a 2002 2.0l manual transmission ECU... it will work fine... it is legal to use if you have a 2001 but not a 2003 or 2002.5... whats different is the self test logics and trouble codes

get the mp3 flashed ecu from spiceyorangeMSP. cheap and a great upgrade. i just put mine in a few days ago and its great.

actually the car needs to be painted it was in a slight fender bender... that just a replacement that has not been painted... but i agree its butt ugly right now. and the rims are to big.... as soon it painted they are gone... i hate them, but they came with the car!!!

As for the ECU if you want I'll keep an eye out for a new ecu for you unless u decide to try and have yours re-flashed. I come across a lot of protege/mazda parts in general on my daily browsing.

well i like it and at least i dont look like the other people on here who modify there cars four different ways. 1. msp conversion 2. sport 20 3. stock lowered or 4. bc2. i have enough balls to do something that looks good, and not mimic someone else. im original. and for you. way to ruin a protege.

just so you know your list is missing something. they make a really nice lip for the 01-03 sedan. and even then it can be put onto the 99-00 protege with a different, but clean appearance

(uhm) your protege gets nothing but shit from everyone on the forums. everything on that list except the bc2 is called a clean look. better than a lip on top of a lip with pair of hideous side skirts and a god awful looking rear bumper cover that doesnt even match the rest of the car. wake up man, it Doesnt look good.

yeah its just the OEM front air dam or "front lip" for a 01-03 sedan, i had to shorten each side about 2 inches to fit the 99-00 and location of the brackets needed to be changed.

I got the P5(which are the same as the MSP, MP3, but were already classic red) side skirts from a member on here a couple years ago, they sat around in my shed until I got the rear lip which I got last spring from a salvage place in TX, that had one of each color for both 03 and 03.5 styles. $180shipped for that and the $40 to my friend to paint it.

i bought the front lip, it was a good price, and i liked it. and quite a few other people liked it. so somebody pm'd me and said he had the kit off of his p5. so i thought it was the p5 sides and a rear lip. but it ended up being the style i have now. i dont hate it, i like it. the sides match the front well, and im glad to have something no one else has.
