from a couple people that certain color MSP's have problems and others dont. Is this true and also i heard our motors are pretty weak, how much HP can our stock internals push w/o snapping something?

I don't think it depends on the color of the car, more on the driver upping the boost. The common MSP problems are there, if they happen to you, it's probably not going to depend on the color of your car.

The internals of the MSP are weak its just a normal protege engine with a turbo bolted ot it for the most part. The power out put really depends on the tune, how you drive, it ect... ect... ect...

The MSP's are all the same as far as the engine goes.

You can blow these motors up completly stock(rare) and then you can get a freak that will take just about anything you throw at it. JDMSam(I think ) achived 277whp on a stock block with a good tune. Now dont expect to get that or anywhere close.

They put out around 170hp at the fly stock and around 150ish to the wheels and thats only pushing 5-6.5lbs of boost.

Just do bolt ons and leave the boost level alone unless you have a tune other then the stock craptastic tune

As said above, if u want fun, get good rubber and an intake with an upgraded deck and pumping sub;

guys guys, we all know that color does affect drivability. it is a proven fact that yellow is fastest and therefore is prone to more defects than the other cars. also, there is a slight increment in ticket rates.

in a serious note, mazda did post somehting on their website not too long ago stating that they may have "screwed up" and damaged some vehicles, and that for people to differenciate, they will paint them titanium silver. hence why alot more titaniums are having all sorts of problems. The clunk, in fact, is a Titanium Only issue, it just contaminates other MSP's on the lot and cars like Blazing Yellow Mika and Black got infected. Only way to reverse the damage is turn the boost all the way to 11.8 PSI, it has to be 11.8 because that's how long it takes the virus to die.

Anothe proven fact, BOOST = 1/4 Mile Runs.
So, a 11 second car means it is boosting 11PSI, a 9 sec car is boosting 9psi and so on.

sam got close to those numbers on pirana's car! but that is with mam mani, perrin front mount, vibrant turbo back i believe, intercooler purge kit(nitrous), and tuned on the unichip i beleive @ 14 psi! not really a smart area to aim for if u ask me. lol but i think he ran it dd like that for a while!

hah I've recieved that same comment about it being a evo several times. Still haven't gotten a subi comment yet. Its generally nice car if anything else thats saying I get a comment at all really.

to the op, enjoy the car how it is cuz once you start moding you cant stop,then you snap the lsd,then you blow the motor,then you forge it and boost big and blow out the tranny, just start saving hella money and do a nice build in the future trust me i wish i did it that way haha
