What could possibly cause abnormally high oil pressure to the point where I have had oil leaking from the filler cap (yes it was secured tightly) and has now caused two rear main seal gaskets to go bad? The rear main seal was first replaced after it started leaking drops of oil. The replacement gasket has blown out completely, and my car peed oil all over a parking lot. (bang)
Thanks for your help!

i would get a pressure gauge to determine how high it is to begin with

I just ordered a pair of prosport boost & oil pressure gauges. (thumb)
I have a feeling it's my stupid breather filter I put on the valve cover in place of the line that normally goes to the intake. I've had the same breather filter on for quite some time and it may have gotten clogged, resulting in some oil pressure buildup. At leat I'm HOPING it's that stupidly simple.

Yep, replaced it with a MilleniaS pcv after the first rear main seal failed.

Is it possible for the oil pump to go bad and OVERpump the oil?
