you need the windage tray (between oil pan and block) to plumb in the oil return from the turbo. if yours is undamaged, you can reuse it. you can also get a custom oil line made and get a fitting put into a regular windage tray.

well, the valve cover and intake may be different, but those would be easy to swap over from the current engine, as well as obviously the exhaust mani... you may want to swap the cams, do a timing belt, normal stuff like that...

The MSP motor is a 2.0L just like the regular Protege (01-03). All you have to do is make sure you keep your windage tray and switch it over to the other bottom end. And.. you could always go forged this time ;)

Yea should I do the oil cooler too, or is that the same from the msp?

Well I didn't blow my motor, apart of my cranshaft is warped, cylinder 3 bearing has alot of play in it with the new bearing, nothing else is damaged tho

yeah, you'll probably bring over all the peripheral stuff from the old motor, including oil cooler, and jen, you're 3 posts behind. lol

hang onto the old block and build that up for forged parts if you plan on goin that route some day, or sell it off for someone else to build forged and recover some of your replacement engine cost.

LOL well, it sort of took the guy a few posts to understand that the MSP engine is the same, sometimes you gotta say it in simple terms even if it's been said once before ;)
