View Full Version : A couple runs on the Autobahn

Nothing special

I did a couple runs on the autobahn. The first one was coming up through the gears but there was too much traffic. The second one was all in 6th gear but I still didn't hit 159 like I did in the past.
Car is all stock even down to the paper air filter.

I wish I was able to do that, and on the other hand I would be too afraid of hitting something and spinning out of control and dying lol.

Did you have the brights on 'cause it's necessary for those speeds, or was that accidental? I noticed you turned them on at 130 or so.

I turned them on when I was coming into traffic so they were sure to see me coming. I will get some better video when I return from my deployment next year.

that would be fun. I wonder what the vehicles actual moving speed was at the top end.

wow, the camera is super steady. what is it mounted on? you car is also clearly running very smoothly a those speeds!

i have mine up to about 135, and it felt stable...i wish I was able to run it on the autobahn.

When I get back from my deployment I will get a in the cabin video. I know this wasn't good but I had a request to do it this way.

I used double sided tape and mounted it to the steering column just behind the wheel.

yeah, its a good idea when traveling at high speeds so people see you coming.

the most i went on my ms3 is 130....but on my 06 Gsxr600...i topped it off at 172!!!
It was a blast/scary and everything was soo small....and afterwards i decided that i would never do something like that again...!! haha

shame that you were probably only doing like 155mph on your bike. i had an 05 and took it to the 170's also, but there's like a 10% decrease in actual speed compared to what the speedo says.

but i agree, after going that fast on a bike i felt that there was no need to go that fast in anything else. for one thing i don't have the roads to do that here in delaware (had the bike in NC), and im cop magnet enough with my window tints

they still have sections on the autobahn with no speedlimit? didnt know that

i thought they changed it to 120km/h max but i guess thats just where i was driving at lol

Dang u serious??? that sucks...im bummed out now, i always thought my top speed was 172mph haha oh well i guess

and yea man...bikes get up there quick and with no hassle!! cars take a bit more to get to 120 or so...
