*UPDATE.. CHECK MY RECENT POST*
hi friends, once again i need your help. the build this summer went very well (thanks again for all who helped)
So heres the prolly: Everything was running great (really great) but today my baby threw a code for the MAF (too much air).. i have reset it, reduced my boost to 9, and it still codes every time i go into boost. when this happens it abruptly spudders.
Ok, so my maf is relocated, and i was boosting @ 13 when the first maf hiccup happed, and now whenever the car sees any kind of boost it codes.. What do you guys think? what are our maf's blow-thru capabilities? and thanks in advance for all of your help!!(rockon)(rockon)(rockon)

Are you running your AFC right now? I will get my laptop up and running in a few minutes and post that map I was telling you about.

And yeah.. you definitely need some 440s.. I may be upgrading to 565's if you may be interested in the 440s I have.

THX jen! yes im runnin the superstock map right now. Is is possible that your map will fix my maf problem? and yes, im very interested in those 440s. how many miles are on them, what do you want for them? Thanks again for everything!

The Superstock map was a bitch on my car, I got so much occasional fuel cut it was crazy. So much for it being a good starting point LOL. The map that I posted is the one that I made, took two of the 440 maps, put them together, it allowed me to boost through 3k-4k without the fuel cut crap at all, pulled strong. It may be a little lean though during cruising, I couldn't tell if it was the map or my O2 sensor code. I'll PM you on the injectors :)

you were FAR from stock trying to run that map.... i think you're askin a bit much considering your mod level. lol

theres a 440 map out there to start from...

LOL yeah, but it was crazy that everyone was saying to start out with that one, even with 440s.. then edit that map from there. I had it on for maybe 10 minutes before I just pulled over and switched it out with another map. Then when I stated my issues with it, they acted surprised LOL.

do you think thats a better start than the relocated maf map? and i was tryin to figure out what would happen if i ran the 440 map before putting on the 440s. i really need to fix this maf issue. i just doubt that the map is gonna fix this issue..

wish I coulda been there. i think you were tuning right when I started getting active on here. i wouldn't dream of the superstock map on your build level... whatever... anyway!

I'd say 440 map only with 440s.... otherwise you're going to lean out badly.

umm, if you're throwing a p0103, then the problem is probably the ECU, are you running a MSP ecu or a stock ECU?
the 440's are your best bet, as then you'll be able to trick you ecu into seeing lower maf readings.
The MSP ecu shouldn't throw this code, but then again i've only confirmed that the maf will hold up to 12psi.. past that is unknown territory.
good luck!

I'd think he would be running the MSP ecu.. since he has a MSP.

im runnin the msp ecu. i cant remember the code ill get back to you on that one. How will the 440s trick the ecu into lower maf readings? and does anyone know what these mafs will hold? ill be waving byebye to 12psi real fast (wiggle)

I don't think the MAF can "handle" PSI, but rather voltage. If you are getting the P0103 code, then it is seeing too much voltage, which then triggers the fuel cut crap. If you wanted to play around with one of the maps, try leaning it out a bit around the 3K to 4K range, and see if that helps with the fuel cut. That's mainly what I did in the 440 map and it worked great.

because with the injectors flowing more fuel per injector pulse length, the SSAFC tells the ECU that the MAF is reading lower voltage than if you were tuning for a larger injector, which would require the ECU to demand a longer injector pulse.

im not seeing any fuel cut. id say if anything, its pulling timing and dumping fuel..
*oh, and thanks for all the input guys!

Eh, that's weird then. I was thinking you were when you mentioned the "hiccup" thing in the original post.

yeah, ive had fuel cut before and this is definitely not it. the "hiccup" i guess is actually more like a nasty boggy belch (only in boost). any other thoughts? has this ever happened to you?

yes sir, they have about 1000 miles on 'em.. good thought tho.

damn. that gave me a NASTY bogging issue in boost, and only when hot. i didn't wanna believe it was plugs... then I pulled out 2 bosch Platnium +2's (prev owner) with cracked insulators... I always go for plugs first now. lol
ok, so we're sure the ignition is good. that basically puts you back in the fuel map camp.

aw geez, its back. the other day my thermostat went bad on the highway, hitch hiking, 30 bucks at autozone, and 2 hours workin on my baby roadside and we are up and running again.. but your not going to believe this, the spudder in boost is back!! same maf code. wtf?! So far i have reset the ecu, checked maf connections, checked connections at the ssafc that deal with the maf (everything looks good) any ideas?
