so i was driving and i ended up blowing off a vaccum line.
so i reattached and clamped it
now i still vaccum but i wont hit boost
sometimes i might hit like 1 psi.
idk if it could be one of my vaccum lines or what

when you let off the gas does the car stall or idle drop?

what vacuum are you reading?

penny37108

what you mean?
it also has random moments where it will start bogging real bad then out of normal it goes back to how it was running

I'm taking it you have a boost gauge if you say it's only hitting 1psi but what is it sitting at at idle, vacuum?

maybe check the vacume line connected to your wastegate

Sounds a lot like a open vac line to me... If you have a boost/vac gauge you should be reading around -20 - -23 at idle with the AC off.

I had my actuator go bad and only at times would it stuter but no boost. Most I could make was 1 maybe 2 psi if I REALY tried. I felt like such a newb with the pedal floored all the way and me presing on it hard. Replaced the actuator and got my boost back. I thought it wa the turbo and took it to get repaired, he laughed at me and charged me $15 for a used actuator. That one didn't last to much either.

Could be that or a open vac line.. I know when I first got my MSP thier was a open vac line under the dash from the previous owner. My guess it was a boost controller that installed previously.

Also with my bad WGA it would build boost but not really feel like it. The gauge would show boost but it felt as if the turbo and bov was just added noise.

I'd say mess with the wastegate rod to see if it's closing all the way. I know when I'd mess with mine it'd get boost again but only temporarily.

i had the WG rod come off where it clips to the engine before but it ran good but never boosted.

when it runs it seems like its trying to hit boost but just cant.
it still vaccums normal at idle and everything
even when i floor it im lucky if i get 2psi
i have the forged billet WGA but never got it installed.
maybe i should just replace it and see if thats the problem?

That just might work, get to it and let us know.

well i just went and looked at it and the rod on my WGA is really loose.
so im guessing the clipped popped off of it and that could be whats causing it.
does anyone know where i can get another clip?

That clip is such a small POS, make one out of anything.

you think thats what could be causing the problem though?

if its still attached i would doubt thats it. i would go with your WG since you are boosting a little. that clip does suck though, if/when you replace the WG you should replace the clip. try a hardware store or auto parts store for a new one

if the WG rod is lose but still attached then the clip is not your problem, Its the full WG and you will need another one.

no the rod is not attached at all

Well that's your problem. I'd still go ahead and change it out if you have the other one already.

That's exactly what just happened to
me. It felt like just noise. Showed that it was building boost fine and would blow off but no reaction to it from the motor. Also my exhaust Mani bolts were all loose didn't help the situation much so check that too but as I've learned recently wga failure takes all shapes and sizes so my bet is that it is wga failure in some form. Look and listen for a vac leak and either use a compressor on that line to see if it's holding and also try the blow test but wga failure is so common on our cars that I bet that's what it is. Just ordered my ATP wga today but not until way after I had eliminated everything else first FML that was expensive but finally solved my problem and Noe I have new plugs new vac lines tight intake and exhaust manis a clean maf and filter and freshly cleaned fuel filter, pump, injectors and relocated all vac accesories to clean lines only to find it was wga in the end

Well I was partially right...

Attach the rod and go for a quick drive. As I said those clips are crap, probably a good sign that they've probably been in there for repair already.

will a e clip work to reattach it?

mazdaspeedp

maybe spray a bit of oil into your wastegate
