Adding a line outputted SUB?

Hey, i wanted to start piecing a Sub-woofer kit together. SO far i have a line output converter. I know i will need other things but i just wanted to know what exactly. I'm pretty sure that i need a SUB, AMP, AMP wiring kit, Capacitor(?), and thats all i got in terms of what i think i would need. Can anyone let me know what else i'm missing or if i got it all wrong. ALso, i just wanted to know if it was at all possible to add an amp to the stock speakers. (NOT BOSE) THANKS.(cool)

i guess it all depends on if he was going to run for a sub....a capacitor will save the charge so it will insure you wont damage your alternator or other electronics. plus the charge will be right there for immediate response with more amps and better lower octaves. id say if you go 1000 watts or more you should run a capacitor...or not. i dont really care. lol.

only time a cap is useful is if you're using a SHITTY amp which requires 14+ volts to make any power... or you're installing a show system otherwise, its a waste of money. The alternator on your average car can handle it withough a problem, you should be wired to the battery anyway, so the alt doesn't see any huge draw changes...

OK, so a cap isnt necessary. Thanks, but any idea if i could add an amp to the stock speakers?

if you're considering an amp for the interior speakers.... that comes WAY after a new head unit as far as sound quality production, at which point you can run it all off of RCAs eliminating the need for a poor sound quality line level converter.

running an interior speaker amp off of line level outputs from the stock HU would be a complete waste, unless you want a LOUD, crappy sounding stereo.

can you run a sub setup by replacing the stock wires to the bose sub to a custom amp/sub setup in the hatch? the swtock stereo seperates the bass to the bose sub pretty well doesnt it?

I and many others on here tapped into the lines running from the head unit to the amp under the driver seat. These are before the amp, I then ran to a cross over, and into my amp for the (2) 8 inch JBL subs in the hatch area. This works awesome. Not PIMP RAPPER loud, but plenty of punch to fill out the sound. I have zero complaints and am very pleased with the results.

Sounds like a great plan Super Unique...your just running a basic crossover inbetween the headunit and amp? then having the amp power those jbl 8'?
