Having an issue with my right front caliper. When coasting at very slow speeds, like when backing into a parking space, you can hear something rubbing. It rubs enough to stop the car when going said speeds. I took a drive to see which one it was the other day. After the drive the two rear calipers were cool, as well as the front left, but the front right was so hot it would boil water. I spoke to a service manager and he said that the disc brakes were not adjustable what so ever and I would have to but a whole new caliper, which through Mazda at my discount will run $323. I called my dad and he said that you can rebuild the internals and fix the problem, but it might end up costing more with all the parts and labor. Does anyone know what I should do? Can these be adjusted? Thanks for your help.

There is no adjustment on the front calipers. I am having the same issue, but with the other side. You should be able to get replacements from any auto parts store for much less they will just need to be painted to match the stockers. Rebuilding is a cheaper option that you could do but it shouldn't cost over $300 let alone $100.

i heard mazda 626 fits the rear? and front you might have to get mazda ones not sure though but make sure your pads arnt just worn out and also you could machine the rotors maybe the rotors are warped and thats why its rubbing like that

nothing fits the rear... the MSP rear calipers are unique

the front ones you can use 626 V6 ones and they'll work but they are still slightly different than the MSP calipers

it does sound like the calipers are seized... you can rebuild them though

Probably goin to have to bite the bullet and spend the money on one that is already rebuilt.
