View Full Version : feels like im not boostn any thing???

some time i feel like it its only boostn 2psi when its 5.5psi. and when i up the boost to 7psi wwow lol haha . it doesnt go any where. and there are day were it boost 7 psi and you could feel it. i still have crack on TM. do you guy think my turbo is going out. got it when it was only 20000 mile now its 99400miles.(coffee)

what you're experiencing is likely heat soak... if the turbo is making boost, its likely doing its job, if the boost is holding steady, I'm look into ignition for your problem. also if you say something is cracked, I'd suspect fuel cut may be a problem.

having same issue but i dont have cracks in my manifold and i have a new turbo on the car. (just started doing this out of no were)

also after the motor warms up does the ingntion advance/change?

OK... searching showed not anything close to what he said unless im wording it wrong. and why start my own thread if we have the same issue/question?? Sounds kinda pointless to have two threads asking the same question.... lol

well i have a fmic so i dont think it shouldnt be heat soak. but some times it pick up prtty good . i have it at 6.5 psi but feel like 1psi hahahaha. so u guys think it a fule cut??? what a good FCD to buy that would help out.

FCD is bad news unless you're tuned... if you're fuel cutting, its for a reason. the ecu is protecting the engine from something. if its not overboosting, then its probably a boost leak. i don't understand what you mean by "feels like its boosting 1psi"... i have no idea what my car would feel like boosting 1psi. I suppose riding in a regular protege with the throttle smashed would be what it would feel like a 0psi... help me understand what you're getting at.

well i have FMIC awr front and back motor mount aem caic. cs flywheel exedy stage1 clutch, greddy BC set at 6.5 low and 7.5 in hi mode. and wideband that read 10.0 when i step on it. i have greddy ultimate ems but havnt installed or tune the car yet. i dont know how to expand my self??? im tryn .

my car runs fine. only power problem I had was resolved by replacing with plugs that didn't suck. (put in by previous owner)

what kind do you have ??? i have ngk z$%%611 i forgot. i have other pack of spark plug there autolite racing spark plugs copper and one step colder. you think that could help

one step colder would be recommended if you were running higher boost. otherwise, no. thats the same plug I'm running, but they burn up fast. how long have you had em in?

i swap them when the motor was installed in my car. i was testing both of the spark plugs .. it seem the car ran better with the ngk.

sounds about right for WOT on stock tune... they run stupid rich..

I'd find whatever your problem is before getting tuned.

Did you relocate your maf like I told you to? Maybe if you didn't the your sucking more air that you are getting through the intake and the car is running disgustingly rich.

im not all THAT mechanically inclined, but i dont see the spark plugs having any affect on the maf...but i guess i could be wrong.

How does your exhaust smell?? Cause mine is doing that, but its not that bad yet for me (since I dont race I dont mind haha ATM!!) But My Cat is going. Which is giving it to much back pressure, which will cause the Turbo to go overtime aswell.

So 3" exhaust with a GT28 for the time being? LOL!

I love mine, best quality so far. To me the custom made pieces have worked much better than the mass produced pieces.
