So I was tired of sweatin, so I decided id see if I could fix the AC today. So i pulled the shrader valves from the R12 fittings to install the 134A retrofit fittings. So then i hooked the AC machine up, put it in a vacuum to make sure it had no leaks, added 2oz of oil, and charged it up. Car calls for 1.76 of R12, and 25% less of 134A, so 1.32 is what I think I ended up putting in. Turned the AC on and the compressor came on(making wierd sounds) and cold air came out the vents. The compressor didnt sound too good, but I figured who knows when the last time it was even in use. So I figured id drive it home and test it out. NICE drive home with it on. Rechecked it at my house and the sight glass on the high side was all green, damn it. Went back to work, recoverd the system, sealed the sight glass, put in vacuum again, held vacuum. Decided id let my epoxy dry a day before I charge it up again. Hope for the best tomorrow.
