Lean out Protege5

Hey all, I was wondering if theres a decently inexpensive way to lean out my car esp when cruising. After cruising at highway speeds and coming to a stop at a light on an onramp, i get a gush of fuel drenched air. It reeks of unburnt gasoline...as I understand it, the protege motor runs notoriously rich anyways...
