I've been having a problem for the last two months or so. When it rains the car misses extreemly bad (completely breaks up and jerks) when under boosted exceleration. But only under boost. The car is FINE untill it hits boost. Sometimes I can hit 2psi before it breaks sometimes 5psi.

Obviously water is the key factor but what would be getting wet that would cause this only under boost? Havent had any luck with the spray bottle test yet. Any suggestions would be appreiciated.

Oh ya I'm running factory boost and I pulled the unichip to eliminate it as a problem.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!

This problem has popped up before here. I don't recall if there was ever a definitive solution, but it's always sounded to me like fuel cut brought on by a very fine mist of water hitting the MAFS and throwing the reading past the max the ECU likes to see.

I was actually thinking along thoes lines. It does it even if the roads are really wet. The position of my air intake would make it very prone to getting wet from road spray. Perhaps I can fabricate a sheild or relocate it. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!!!

There are also water-repellent filter covers that only cost $20 or so, and should prevent most water spray from making its way onto the filter.

dont get the shitty injen water repelent filter waste of money plus it restricts the airflow i say try to get a metal shield i have this problem too but if you just dont floor the gas it seems to go away just give it a bitof gas and then a bit more and so on untill you reach full boost thats how i stop fuel cut
