Ok, so I'm stuck with my Protege for a while now because I just know that getting another car will not happen for at least two years.
Are there any aftermarket products that I can employ to make the car quieter? IE are there aftermarket noise-canceling products out there? If there are, can anybody direct me to them? I'd really like to put them to use so that I don't go crazy over the stupid FS DE engine.

There are lots of products, but none are cheap and all require lots of work. Look up Dynamat and similar products to kill vibrations and some road noise. Closed cell foam is used to block other sound transmissions, i.e., between you and the firewall. If you have $1000 and a few days to put into it, you can make your protege feel more solid and be quieter than most entry level luxury cars. It does add a bit of weight though, so performance will go down.

soft skinny tires will be quiet, go get some of that foam spray insulator stuff in a can at your hardware and have at it in you interior, lol if you have the time to remove your whole interior and fill it with that foam and some furnace insulation where ever you can it really makes it quite!! my friend did this to his toyota truck and now there is less noise while cruising than in a lexus!

what noise are you bothered by? the injectors can't really be helped... but putting some sound deadening down will probably help. if its the exhaust, you can add a resonator which will quiet things down... as was mentioned, get a tire with a good noise rating if that bothers you...
