I added a custom control panel for my carputer/carpc in the place where my cup holders used to be:
Space Navigator (for things like scrolling lists, selecting different centrafuse modules)
Arcade-style buttons hooked to an Ultimarc mini-pac (for play/pause and triggering voice recognition)
16x2 LCD (shows obdii data and other random things, custom code in-work)
All of this compliments the original touchscreen-based system

But I stash my phone, wallet, random junk, drinks and ect. in my cupholders... and don't tell me to use the coin holder next to the shifter. My sunglasses go there.

Its an Alpine IDA-X100 (also in a custom plexiglass/mdf mounting thing). More info on parts and stuff for the carputer is here (http://www.willmeyer.com/projects/car-hacking/electronics).

your literally a rocket scientist...NASA called, they want their technology back. But in all seriousness awesome amazing job! so clean! i have one question,...what wire should i tap into thats a 12 volt constant so that my gauges stay on the same color all the time. ( i have ones that have 7 color settings and im tired of finding red every time i start the car)
