hotrodding a mazda3

so we are buying a 2010 mazda3 with the 2.5. What sort of performance upgrades can one do to this car without voiding the warranty? would hate to have to wait 3 years to play with it....from what I have read thus far there appears to be some room for improvement and the parts to do so...if you were us what would you do to it?

Most, if not all, of the suspension parts are compatible with the 1st gen. Engine parts aren't out yet. Corksport is supposed to have their SRI out very soon. Their 2.5 dual exhaust will be out in 3-4 weeks, I think. Other parts are in development from other companies, but they haven't released details. Also, once you go past the intake and exhaust, warranty tends to be a bigger issue. Burden of proof is with the dealer though.

Yeah. Junk. I bet it just wires into an O2 sensor and changes the A/F ratio.

PRM intakes has a SRI out as well. not sure if it has been officially released but I have seen it on a car on the boards.

Yeah, I had forgotten about the PRM intake. I'm wanting something that doesn't use a proprietary filter, but others may not care.

I agree. but at a later date I bet you could easily replace that proprietary filter with what you wanted.
