How difficult is it to pull the Crank pulley?

Well it's torqued pretty good if that's what you mean ;) I did mine when I replaced my timing belt. From memory to replace the pulley you'll need to remove the serpentines, water pump pulley, crank and cam position sensors, wheel well plastic guard thing, and timing belt cover. I don't *think* the valve cover needs to come off unless you're doing the timing belt. Then you'll need a beefy impact or torque wrench and a friend to hold the brakes to get the pulley off. As far as gains, a little more rev-happy is all really with a lightened pulley, don't have a UDP myself. Probably better/easier gains to be had if you're not in there to do the timing belt anyway.

I'm doing the cams and belts no UDP.Can't I just put it in gear to keep the crank from turning, rather than have a friend use the brake. Thanks for the advice

It turned when I tried putting it in gear. I used a breaker bar against the frame and hit the starter a little bit to loosen it. I gotta say, I was on the pulley for a long time with the impact and it didn't budge.

I heard there was a little hole to put a screwdriver in or something...
I wedged a 2x4 between the driver's seat and brake pedal to hold it down. Folded up a shop towel to keep from tearing it up. Didn't even have to buy a friend a beer. ;)
