Gear Ratios Sedan vs Hatch

Purchased a 2010 2.0 L Sedan and a 2.5 L Hatch. The sedan has an automatic transmission and the hatch is a 6 speed manual. Big difference in RPM's with the Hatch running at approximately 3K RPM at 70-75 mph. Noticed sedan running quite a bit lower rpm's at the same speed. Appears mazda has put some really low gears into the hatch. Could not find any specifics in the manual.

i have a 6 speed sedan and it runs the same as your hatch. it's not sedan/hatch specific for the gears...i'm sure the transmission has a lot to do with it on how they geared them. but i don't know the specs either.

My sedan is 2 liter so maybe the difference is related to engine size vs model type.

Uhh, the difference would be due to the fact that your sedan is an auto and the hatch is a manual.
