Need Help : HU Install

Alright, so this isnt my first go around with a HU Install...but i got a new double din head unit yesterday and went to install it...took the old HU out, put the new one in, turned the key, nothing...no power to the HU...so i thought, hmm maybe a dud??!?! put the old HU back in and it doesnt have power either :( *many sad faces*

I checked all related fuses so thats not an issue

and as a side note, now my keyfob doesnt work (it worked when i unlocked the car to start the install) and my trip computer isnt holding the mileage when i shut the car off

Any ideas?
